I've never had a drone before and to be honest I have no real need for one. I'm not out every weekend capturing scenic vista's with it, however I am a keen photographer and I recall as a kid, every now and again, pilots from the local airfield knocking on doors and trying to sell aerial photographs of your street. Several decades have since past and I though why not try and get such a photo of my own home, hence the drone.I don't like buying cheap because I think that you get what you pay for but then again I was never going to be a drone guru and therefore some of the offerings at £600 and upwards seemed unnecessary for my purposes. I then saw the Holy Stone 720R, all of the same features as far more expensive drones but at a far more competitive cost. It appeared to be the happy medium for my foray into drones.On first viewing, I could see that it was well built and had a quality feel to it. The instructions were clear, the app easy to navigate and the set up couldn't have been quicker. Armed with my newly obtained drone ID etc for a drone over 250g, I took it for its first flight. Having read some scare stories online, which to be honest you can find about anything online, I wondered if it would disappear into the yonder, never to be seen again. Far from it, the experience was excellent, it appeared stable, responsive and easy to get to grips with. The photos I bought it for are excellent and now adored my office wall. Friends and family now want theirs doing.I can see me getting more use out of this than I thought I would and I am delighted with the Holy Stone 720R to date. The return home feature is excellent, one button press and watch it return. I'm now hoping to get to grips with the other features and plan to get some videos and photos of my surrounding hills and beaches.More than happy with my purchase and would recommend.

I’ve had the HS720R for a few weeks & to start with had a pretty good experience. Got some really good quality video & pictures.Then the issues started 1st while flying I would get an unconnected alert on the app meaning I could no longer take video or pictures. After landing I fully shut down the drone & followed the start up process. This constantly happened meaning loads of part recorded videos on the sd card. Next TOILET BOWLING, I had read lots of reviews regarding uncontrollable toilet bowling & though I got away with that known fault by meticulously calibrating before each take off. Well no I didn’t the drone started flying in a uncontrollable loop every attempt to gain control failed the drone was doing it own thing, all I could do was watch as it crashed at full speed. Absolutely gutted. If that fault was rectified the HS720R would be fantastic. I’ve started a return. ☹️

This is my first venture into Drone Flying. I didn't want to spend DJI type money so I went for this one. I've had it for two days and it's great. The Video and Photo facilities will have to wait (although I've made the obligatory film of the roof of my house and the quality seems OK) but at the moment I'm learning to fly it. The controls are smooth and simple and with Follow Me, Orbit Flight and Take Me Home the basics are covered. The unit is robust (I've crashed it once) and simple to set up. I've surprised at the battery life, quoted at 21 minutes I assumed I'd get about 15 mins in a cold UK spring but I'm getting at least the quoted time and slightly better.I've not turned it up to High Speed yet, given my current ability that's got disaster written all over it.Definitely recommend this to anyone who's getting into Drones or stepping up from a basic entry level product.
