No More Dummies: Giving Up Your Dummy (Campbell Big Steps, 9) Review: This book massively helped my daughter give up dummies. She was addicted to hers. We started reading this book a few weeks before we decided to scrap the dummies. She liked all the flaps and found the story interesting. It mentions a dummy fairy which helped us link that to the dummy fairy taking her dummies to babies in the hospital. Review: We bought this for our son as the average review was very good. We came up with the fairy story (give your pacifiers to the fairy and you'll get a gift), and he's quit using it from that day.

My child loves this book - she really engages with the interactive flaps and wheels. She’s still quite young to fully grasp the idea of fairies or the “dummy away” concept, but she’s already becoming familiar with it and clearly enjoying the story.

I’ve read this book for my kid for a few weeks before ditching the pacifier. It’s a nice and engaging book that kids really are interested in!

This book was so good for preparing my daughter for having ‘no more dummies’. She went without her dummy for the first time last night and she slept the whole night without any tears. I was amazed. She’s had her dummy ever night since a baby and is now 4 years old. I was expecting it to be a nightmare. As a heads up, it uses the ‘dummy fairy’ solution to ditching the dummy, which we knew ahead of time so were happy to go along with. It was actually great as (as far as my daughter’s concerned), the dummies have literally gone from the house so she hasn’t even asked for them. She’s said that she wants/misses them but I don’t think she has the expectation that she can have them. The reward we’ve given her has kept her going when she’s been sad. We’ve got a few that we’re giving her over the course of a few days to keep up the momentum. I don’t know if this matters to anyone (it didn’t matter to us) but there was no mum in the book, just Dad. I’ve used these books for other transitions and they have always been amazing. I wouldn’t hesitate to buy more in the series if I needed them. Would 100% recommend!!
