Well I should have bought these before I had the hot water heater leak through the utility room and through the garage. I have a few Meross items that I’m a fan of and with the price point on this and figuring I needed it, I decided to buy one. It integrates well, easy to set up, works well with HomeKit. Battery is easily replaceable which beats buying something to throw it out when it’s done. Now if I could just get the cat to stop playing with it and leave it near the hot water heater.

Very handy to have around. I have one below my air conditioner to warn me if the coil freezes and then leaks, which happens and can cause some water damage. I have one by my water heater too to warn if I have a leak and one by my water manifold- very nice peace of mind to have.

The items work fine but I found the range to be quite limited. I could not get a reliable signal in my home. I have a second smaller building and these work great there. Setup was easy and easily connected to Home Kit. So read the instructions about range and if that works for you these are fine. I bought a set from another manufacturer for my home and it worked fine but was more expensive. I rated it 4 stars simply because of the range, perhaps I should have been more careful about reading all the information.

One of the key things for a leak sensor to work is that it always is connected and monitoring for leaks. The hub constantly disconnected from Apple Home always requiring me to unplug and plug in again. No issue with my Aqara water leak sensors staying connected. Annoyed I paid as much as I did for this to not work reliably and barely used it for 1.5 years.

easy set up for some peace of mind. This is a solid set of three water sensors. Has anyone who’s ever dealt with a leak nose, catching it early is always better. I have these set up near my water heater, laundry, and bathroom. The alarm volume is easy to hear, connectivity with smart home products makes it even better. Sensitive enough that a wet, fingertip touching both sensors will set it off.

They work as intended. But they are difficult to set up. You get a hub in three sensors. I got two sets. So I have two hubs and six sensors and the software provided is incredibly difficult to work with. They don’t show you which sensors connected to which hub. They don’t allow to move a sensor from one hub to another. They don’t even give you a way to identify the various sensors. They give all the sensors the same name and you’re sitting there looking at six sensors trying to figure out what’s what.

A smart sensor is truly needed to alert you of a water leak, which can be catastrophic to your home and possessions. I recommend the Meross Smart Water Leak Detector thanks to the affordable hub that can connect another 15 sensors. The size works for my tightest spot, inside the water heater pan. I plan on getting one for the laundry room, bathrooms and kitchen. When you add up the number of sensors you need, the cost of each brand plus their hub, I'm confident Meross will be at or near the top of your list. The Meross app works well, plus I'm able to get alerts on my Apple Watch.
