We were looking for something for my Dad to use when he walks the dog at night that would make him visible to cars and allow him to see but leave his hands free to manage the dog. This is perfect for that - super bright light plus a red light at the back so he can be seen and easy to turn on and off. The battery lasts for a few walks then easily recharges in a few hours. The only problem is the light is so bright that when he looks at you it is blinding so he has to be careful not to look at oncoming cars for fear of blinding the driver and causing an accident.

Update ** it quit working, I don't know why. I LOVED it. Very dissappointed, update*** only had it for a few days but I do like all the different settings. The part with the lights doesn't feel cheap. The straps are all adjustable, soft, thick, and sturdy. That is good because I have a small head. I live alone and do a lot of work on my house, in my shed, & in my yard. So it's basically impossible to always have a light shining where I need it. I don't know much about the battery life yet but it is rechargeable by USB. The price point is good. I'd gotten another one on Amazon previously and it didn't give nearly the amount of light and it was really cheaply made. This is bigger than the cheaper one but not really noticeable once you're wearing it. It is lightweight. The actual flashlight swivels up and down which is very helpful because I have glasses so I can put it higher up on my head and swivel it so it won't hit my glasses. I was very excited when I put it on for the first time when I needed to go up into my dark attic. The cats aren't thrilled when I turn to look at them when I have it on.

I would give this zero stars if I could. I bought it, it arrived on time. when I opened the package and attempted to charge it, it wouldn't charge. it also wouldn't turn on. the electronics are crap. would NOT advise buying this item. I was going to return it but my son wanted it as a pretend item. I was so disappointed that I didn't even want to invest in the gas to take it back to UPS to return it.

This vendor not only offers a tremendous product, but they have the best customer service! I use a headlamp on my job and this is by far the brightest and most dependable one I have found and highly recommend it. It is a great value and quality while being rechargeable with a mini USB connector.

Overall this is a pretty decent headlamp. The problem with it is it can't be used outdoors in cold weather. The tabs that hold the strap to the battery box on the back of your head don't form a loop, instead two separate, easily breakable tabs on each side. The tabs are quite thin and become very brittle and snap in cold weather leaving you with a headlamp that doesn't want to stay put. That said, if you're looking for an inexpensive headlamp for mild outdoor use in warmer climates, this thing is a decent deal. Overall it's fairly compact and has a decent light throw. Setting the light up to stay on the setting you'd like when turning off and on can be a bit of a pain especially if you're trying to keep low light in the woods. Really though, it's $16 so if it wasn't for the easily breakable tabs I'd rate the headlamp much higher.
