Blown away
This is our first vr setup, I actually didn't even know this existed because Sony was so lame in promoting it but the sale popped up on Amazon and figured if it was just an orphan system that wasn't that great then oh well, I've spent 300 bucks on dumber stuff. Original Atari 2600 is about $1400 inflation adjusted so this is kind of a bargain. It's *way* better than I imagined, aside from the headband setup which I'm going to remedy with a 3rd party pad/strap that gets rave reviews from Globular Cluster. Setup was easier than some people made it out to be as was getting the sweet spot for viewing, the key to the stock support setup is having the back strap very low and the forehead side up high and cranked down snug. It's still pretty bad though for long duration use. So far I've played a bit of GT7, amazing, a rollercoaster game which while graphically a bit dated was stomach churningly fun and the demo for PoolsVR which looked really lame on the youtube videos I saw but a free demo is a good price. It's crazy, I didn't think walking around alone in white tile pool rooms with nothing to do but walk could possibly be interesting but it has to be experienced to know, it's just bonkers. Pretty much every other game/demo included on PS+ is in the process of being downloaded as I just want to try everything. I'd avoided vr so long thinking it was just a gimmick (not to mention super expensive till now) but I've not been this jazzed by a new video game thing since literally 30 years ago when I was so awestruck by the original Playstation that on launch day I played with the dinosaur demo for at least 2 hours before even touching an actual game. Update after *lots* of use - Gran Turismo 7 on this is just amazing, worth the price for it alone. Currently I don't have a wheel since my G27 stopped being compatible after PS3 but I almost don't care now. PSVR2 made more of a difference than going from a controller to a wheel did, by a lot. Driving with a controller has gone from a struggle to a joy as car control and spin recovery just feels natural and intuitive now. I can get golds on all the license tests now with a controller which I didn't think was possible. Why Sony isn't shouting about this from the rooftops is a mystery. Get the Globular Cluster comfort mod for sure, absolutely necessary I think or you'll tire of the headset quickly. If your eyes aren't perfect, even if they are just a little bad like mine, get some lenses. I got HONS VR but there are others and some do magnetic frames for easy swaps, the sharp focus and reduced eye strain are great and protecting your stock lenses is worth it alone. Lenses were 50 for me and 90 for my wife who has an awful prescription, I was expecting hundreds because that's what glasses cost. She loves that for the first time in 45 years she isn't looking at the world through a frame and there is no way she could have played this without them. It's a shame Sony didn't do a better job on the stock headset but there is nothing they can do about my eyes. The extra $100 for the comfort mod and my lenses changed this from a future dust collector to my goto gaming choice.

Flexible and the Immersion Feels great due to Highly Detailed Graphics
I bought it as a Christmas gift for a cousin, and today I finally tested it. I have little experience with PSVR 1, but I didn't like the graphics much, though the gameplay was fun. What makes PSVR2 times better, it's not only you get better immersion, but the Immersion impact is multiplied by a big factor because the graphic details and resolution makes you feel that you are close to a real environment. As for the Gameplay, the first thing I thought about when I started is that I definitely want a VR Treadmill to fully complete the immersion. The control is very flexible, you can chose to move with body movements or with joysticks, and 2 other gameplay configs that give 3 options each. Here is things I was able to do so far in terms of interactions: - Put my hand in water, tap the water - Swimming - Climbing ladders and mountain walls by grabbing with Z (At a certain point I felt the muscle pain in my arm, but not for long) - Grabbing and putting back Bow and Arrow behind my back, aiming and shooting - Grabbing plate, move plate, grabbing a pot and put it on a plate - Grabbing and eating apples - Fight, dodge and shoot a big beast with arrows (Much Fun) Overall, PSVR2 didn't disappoint my expectation. And now we can focus on getting more games and eventually another PRSV2 and Treadmills when possible to experience full immersion and Co-Ops features.

Massive improvement over PSVR
I hated the first PSVR headset with a passion. It was the biggest waste of money I’ve ever experienced; In my 3 years of owning it, I maybe used it 10 times bc of how much of a hassle it was to set up and the lackluster gaming experience. I mean it when I say the PSVR2 is light years ahead of the first one. Almost every problem I had was not only addressed, but completely solved. There is 1 cable, that’s it. No more multiple HDMI cables and a whole separate module to run the headset. Just 1 usb c that plugs into the front of your PS5. That alone is worth the price of admission. The controllers are far superior, more similar to VR controllers for PC platforms than the Wii remote rip off from the first one. A built in headset, so you don’t have to plug in your old earbuds and have them constantly ripped out of your ears. The ease of use is the best part about this. It takes maybe 45 seconds to set up, disregarding the play area scanning, that can take a little while if your room is a little wonky and doesn’t have a square area you can scan. I’ve played a few games so far, with the Horizon game being the best in my opinion. It’s awesome shooting a bow and actually having to pull the arrow back and reach over your shoulder to grab another one. It’s immersive as all hell and I love it. You have to play No Man’s Sky as well, the flying is quite possibly the coolest gaming experience I’ve ever had. Actually being able to control the throttle and joystick is insane. I do wish Sony would back some more games for this headset, as the lineup is a little weak, especially compared to what is available on other VR platforms. But the big titles that are here are solid and will be enough to justify this very expensive purchase in my opinion. My only issues with the headset itself are the lenses and the lack of airflow. The picture quality isn’t perfect, it will look blurry if you don’t adjust the lenses perfectly, there’s really no margin of error for that unfortunately. Even when you do find that perfect adjustment, it’s still a little blurry. I find myself taking the headset off quite a lot because of how hot it can get under it. The lenses fog up a lot and I have to wipe the sweat off of my face, which completely breaks the immersion. Overall, I love this thing. I’ve used it more in the 2 weeks I’ve owned it than I did in the 3 years I owned the first headset. I’d say wait for a sale to come around if you’re not totally sold on VR and aren’t really sure if this is something you’ll use a lot. If you do like VR and can see yourself using this quite often, then I’d absolutely recommend buying it as soon as you can. This is an incredible experience.

Product
The “big” Christmas gift for the kids to play. Easy to hook up and adjust to your head and eyes. Pretty comfortable on your face. Came with the game Horizon and it was a fun game. Took some time to play and installing the game was easy with the code that they gave you.

Do not purchase this advertised item if you live in Australia, no where, that i could see, does it state it will not work in our region. The Call of the Mountain code is not redeemable and the product itself (the VR) does not work in our region. I will say though that the refund was processed very quickly back into my account hence the 2nd Star rating.

Faulty controller right out of the box. Even after hours and hours of troubleshooting. Its a known issue apparently, and for the price.... Had to return unit. The rest of the headset worked amazing and looked perfect. Very bummed out
