Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World-, Vol. 23 (light novel) (Volume 23) Review: Peak writing - Holy moly this arc is amazing Review: Great book - Great book. I caught up on rezero after season 3 and I can't wait for this arc! I switched over to the web novel once I caught up on the officially published English books. Be prepared for that. The web novel is way ahead of the light novel.

A return to form!
I don't often write reviews, but this book deserves it. Without spoiling anything, this arc is such a return to form for the Re:ZERO series. It's been quite a while since I've had a book I couldn't put down, and this entry into the series scratches that particular itch all the readers who've stuck around this long probably have. Excellent work. If this plot continues on this trajectory, I'd be comfortable positing it as the best arc in Re:ZERO to date.

Twists and turns
This one kept me on the edge of my seat with where it was going. And that end to this one, *chef's kiss*

Confusing, dark not fun but nessary for the story what else can I say.
One of the few volumes in this series I didn't like. It's not terrible or anything it's just very very confusing. I was tempted half way though to skip this volume, but I knew then other things wouldn't make sense, so I hung in there. Without giving spoilers on why I disliked the volume. It was just very dark and depressing and not even dark in an exciting way. It was dark in a confusing way where even the narrator can't explain what is happening and takes you along for the confusing ride . The biggest problem I had is that dark confusing part just keeps going and going, with no light hearted-ness or comedy to break it up. Which really just tanks the mood of the story. I would have liked to see a light hearted backstory/side story somewhere in the middle just to break the depressing mood a bit for the audience. I will say author wraps it up very nicely by the end BUT it takes long long time to do so.. All the questions this opens up don't get solved, til the end of the entire arc which is like 3 volumes away. Only other anime that's taken me on such a confusing head trip is "chaos head" ( which is mostly about delusions and questioning reality). That should give you and idea of what this volume is most about. This volume is kind of like that just much much more depressing and somehow even more confusing.

Very good volume of Arc 6 so far. It also has the iconic illustrations aswell.

That was like a flashback of what we already knew, touching again his self deprecation without knowing what he had achieved, it felt boring.
