Bestway | Flowclear Sand Filter, 8,327 L / 2,200 gal. |Cost Effective & Environmentally Friendly Above Ground Pool Filter

The media could not be loaded. Upgraded from a small Intex 604 cartridge filter having spent quite some time researching and trying to find a suitable upgrade for our above ground pool.I kept coming back to various Bestway sand filter models. I wanted a filter that didn't require me to change loads of piping and that could be easily connected to our solar heater, and also would be strong enough to pass through and keep good flow throughout the pool. I also have an Intex skimmer but the previous filter/pump was only rated to 850gph so it barely skimmed.My pools pipework is 32mm and the filter comes with 38mm pipework, however the box comes with various adapters so everything was really easy to connect without having to buy new pipework.This filter is excellent and ticked all the boxes for me. It easily pushes water through the solar heat mat, has good enough pull to skim all the skum off the top of the pool and still has more than enough power to give great circulation to the pool, keeping the water crystal clear.The pump itself is reasonably big but I'd not say it's noticeably loud, it's a slight hum, I actually find it quieter than the Intex filter we had. I have placed it into our shed and have it run in there next to the pool so you can barely hear it.I have filled the sand compartment with filter balls as recommended and purchased through Amazon. They seem to be doing the trick after a few days and keeping the water in excellent condition. The strainer is a handy addition and means I can remove any larger bits missed by the skimmer basket. It also has a build in timer with various time modes that I've not used just yet as I tend to run it manually and switch off a few hours after our children get out in the evening. Great addition.Overall I'd highly recommend this filter. Always overfilter a pool, they'll always give you a filter that's far too small for the volume of water in your pool which leads to cloudy water full of sediment.Very happy with my purchase and highly recommend. Well worth the price at time of purchase

What can I say about this!!! Absolutely love it! Has dramatically reduced the replacement of those rubbish fibre filters. Easy to set up, functions are easy once you learn the different settings. The noice level is relatively quiet and once the kids are in the pool you can’t hear a thing. The volume of water that this pump recirculates is brilliant and my pool water is crystal clear. Would absolutely recommend this to anyone who is thinking of buying a sand filter pump. The quality of the pump and its parts are exceptional and very sturdy.

Don't bother breaks after 4 months, even with recommended maintenance, ours did thought it was a fuse, but at end of season so decided we will sort it out when we get it back out, nope the entire motor has blown, we can't fix it, expensive pump for a couple of months

I have a 12 foot bestway pool and the filter pump it came with just wasn’t for for purpose and the filters needed to be replaced weekly. Not great for the planet or my pocket!This machine pugged in easily and cleared a fairly murky pool, after kids being in most days with sun team on, within 2 days.It’s brilliant and doesn’t need to be on very often. I used the glass sand in the end, which is supposed to be better than the silicone one - who knows, time will tell.I now need to get sn additional pipe and adapters to fit it to the heater unit. I hope the filter isn’t too powerful for it 🤞🏻I’ll provide an update once that’s up and running.So far this unit did the job incredibly well.Update: The bestway heater works well with this filter and just needs additional adapters and a wider pipe, but once fitter all great!

Great piece of kit, the set up instructions are a waste of time, very confusing but if you use commons sense it is pretty easy to figure out. I contacted Bestway directly over the phone and they were very helpful.

Great bit of kit if you have a large pool 12ft or over. The added chem connect is a bonus because you can put chlorine tabs into it and forget about it for a while. Easy enough to assemble with plenty of pipe to keep the unit at a distance from the pool.

The media could not be loaded. This sand filter is perfect for raised pools. Very low maintenance., much better than the original filter provided with the pool. Also very hand when you need to empty the pool at the end of the season.The built in timer is extremely easy to use.

Rubbish. Pump broke after about 4 weeks then the replacement they sent also broke. Have been trying to get a refund for months. Despite proof of postage/delivery etc.. of the pump which they made us post back despite it weighing about 35k with the sand I couldn’t get back out. Bad customer service. Avoid.
