Cover Your Gray Lipstick, Mahogany

I have been using mascara to cover my grey roots which was ok, but not terrific. My hair dresser recommended a certain powder to cover the grey and while I was buying that, I saw this. As it was so reasonably priced, I thought it was worth a shot too and ordered this as well. I think I prefer it to the powder (which was 7 times more expensive) for ease of application and colour match. The powder has an anti-light reflecting kind of property which this doesn't have but this is really easy to apply, stays in until it is washed out, not itchy like the mascara was, and is a good colour match. This works well on its own when the grey starts to applear and just before I colour, when there is quite a lot of grey, I have taken to using this first and then touching it up with the powder for even better cover. I would definitely recommend it and will be buying more, although, it seems like it will be pretty long lasting. This is also the best eye brow pencil I have ever used.

Never having used anything like this I was not expecting much, especially at such a low price, but I was pleasantly surprised. I have used it a couple of times as my grey roots were showing and I didn't want to apply another colour for a few weeks yet. It took a bit of getting used to so that I didn't colour my scalp but once I got used to it it was easy. It covered up my roots enough that I felt okay going out and not conscious of my grey roots. You can feel it in your hair, I think it feels like when I have used a little too much dry shampoo, but it looks fine. I asked my friend who was a hairdresser what she thought and she was complementary and said she would never have guessed I had used anything. It does wash out so you do have to reapply every time you go out if you wash your hair every day, but I only use it if |I am going out properly and not just walking to the shops. I will make sure I keep one of these in stock going forward to enable me to extend the time between dying my hair. You also need to be careful if you run your fingers through your hair as it will come off onto your fingers.

I have a small scattering of grey/white hairs, very noticeable on dark hair. I was plucking them out, but one day I plucked out 18, and realised I needed extra help! I've tried hair mascara- very messy, semi permanant colours- hate the dripping, and sometimes miss my grey hairs. I saw a product that was a pencil with a comb for £30, p and p was extra, on a shopping channel, which I thought was too expensive, it made me want to look on Amazon. This is brilliant! It's like a solid lipstick, and very easy to apply, will last til it's washed, and long lasting, have used it lots of times and has hardly got smaller. Choose a colour to match your natural hair shade, brilliant for covering up occasional greys, I keep mine in my handbag now, with my make up, and would not be without this product.

I like this product as it does as it says...... If like myself you find the 'odd grey one' really annoying if going out and not having the time or hair dye in the house this item fixes those few tell tale greys. I did use an item like this many years ago (greyed early that is the problem with darker hair colouring). So seeing this for sale had to buy one to see if it really was as good as those a while back. This looks and is easy to use, think mascara and you would be right but a mascara for the hair. I have this black one and easy to use just like mascara (come to think of it don't know why you couldn't just use mascara). Easy to brush around the hairline even on shorter hair length, just be careful though not to use too much in one go or else you could get an over loaded brush and it goes over your cheekbones annoying when you have just done your makeup first. Really a great item for those times before a hairdresser appointment or just when you notice the odd grey that you don't want the rest of the world to see. Lasts until you wash out, even after numerous steamy baths it remains in, not tried it out in the rain yet, so not sure if it will run. Think I will leave that for someone else to try out. Pricewise with free delivery a bargain so much so have ordered another couple. Alert used it when out in rain and was left with dark patches around the hairline, like panda eyes with a non waterproof mascara, also had an exercise session and found that it almost smeared across my face when I got hot and went to push my fringe out of the way. So in fact good to start off with but out in rain or exercising a different matter. Therefore I am now amending my star from 5 to a 3 as not wanting a panda effect around the hairline.

Was a decent product before but now, there is less product in the pen/brush (I.e.it will finish extremely quickly) and the price has doubled. In what planet over £10 for one brush is reasonable idk. Just pure greed and it’s a shame. There are other options.

Good item

I'm so glad i found this product , it covers my gray roots perfectly and saves me so much money in trips to my hairdresser for colouring my grays . Instead of having to get my hair done every 6 weeks i now only have to go every 10 weeks so when you add up the money over a year it's quite substantial considering how cheap this product is . It also lasts so long because a little goes such a long way so use very sparingly . Would also advise to use on damp hair just after washing because otherwise when it dries it goes very hard and makes hair look very dry and flat looking like it needs a good wash . Medium brown matches perfectly with my medium/dark brown hair as on application is quite dark . I also ordered the dark brown but it's far too dark and made my hair look black .

Pretty happy with the product. There is a small amount of transfer if you touch the area (though didn't notice any on the pillow as others have mentioned) but nowhere near as much as similar powder or spray options I've tried. Yes it's a little greasy feeling (it's basically a brown lipstick) but this isn't obvious to look at, especially if you partly tie back the hair as I did. I won't be using it every day and washed it out the following morning (greys were still covered) but it worked well to hide a small patch of grey roots for a night out when there was no time to dye.
