HP Instant Ink service is fantastic - GET 3 extra months free (7 months in total) with these codes!!
The printer is very neat, and hooked up to my wifi with no problems. I was very impressed with the quality of the printing - even though it is a pretty cheap printer, it prints photos on photo paper which look pretty professional (certainly good enough for a photo frame when done on glossy photo paper - which has its own seperate convenient tray. It comes with 4 month free HP Instant Ink trial - which you should definitely do, but you can extend it to 7 months free ink with the following codes. 1st enter my refer a friend code for an extra month (I get an extra month too) lJm2m and then get an extra 2 months with the code 2MONTHSDJUK . They do all work together if you do them in that order.Having used HP Instant Ink for many months now I thought I would share my thoughts on the service. Initially I was very sceptical of a system whereby the printer automatically reorders ink for you. What I didn't realise is how it has transformed how we use the printer as a family (2 adults, and children aged 16 and 11 with lots of school projects/homework). It really does take the worry out of ink costs, as a full colour high quality page cost just the same as a draft black and white page - and with the online system it is very easy to keep track of how much we are using. I am currently on the 300 pages per month tariff of £7.99 - which works out at £96 a year. That may sound a lot but looking at my Amazon purchase history for ink with my old printer I was spending rough £60 a year on ink and using it like a miser - I was constantly astonished how quickly ink would run out even with virtually all printing being on low quality/B&W settings. Whilst we are paying more now we all can feel free to use the printer as much as we like, and I work from home a lot and also am involved in a charity which requires quite a lot of printing. Photos print fantastically as well (I have the HP ENVY Photo 6230 - which only cost c. £50 and the quality is brilliant). The cartridges come in plenty of time and it is amazing how long they last between changes - which was also a lot of hassle under the old system as even buying genuine cartridges the printer often refused to recognised the cartridges. So I am a complete convert to HP Instant Ink - so if you have just bought a printer with the free ink trial definitely use your code, then use my refer a friend code for another month free:lJm2mAnd then use 2MONTHSDJUK to get another 2 months free.Opt for the maximum package (300 pages) on your trial - but put in your diary the end of the trial - then look back on your usage on the HP website and work out which package works best for you. The fact that unused pages carry over is also great because you find that if you have been on holiday and had a light month, you get a bigger buffer of usage going forwards.

*edit* 50 sheet instant plan now %100 more expensive
Edit, August 2024From £1.99 for 50 sheets it's gone up to £3.99 so with printing less and the 10 sheet a month plan still £1.99, I've cancelled my plan... The ink in it and the 2 new ones they sent will be bricked this month when my subscription stops.I'll look for alternatives of either HP branded or 3rd Party when I've researched the reviews.Had this since 2017 and not skipped a beat. It's wi-fi so you can either print from the memory card slot, usb stick, email the device or direct print from your smartphone or pc/mac. my partner, who's not a techy, loves using Google Keep Notes and now sends her shopping list from the App wirelessly to it.i use it for printing rotas at work, plus printing presents for family, maps for visitors, instruction manuals for tech, paperwork for buying leave at work, collages... all manner of hard-copies.i mainly either send documents via email, or direct from my smartphone the "print" option is easy with the HP Smart app to pick the orientation, quality and if colour etc. i used to get frustrated with sending jpg files wanting them on A4 and it would always default to the 5x7 glossy photo paper tray, now with the app you can see it'll got via A4. use standard 80 gsm but you can easily upgrade for smarter reproductions.scanning is made much easier if you've lots to do - feeder just keeps pulling each sheet in, or singles can be your preferred method. you can output it to the SD card, or usb or email it or put it directly into Dropbox or Google drive... need to explore OneDrive now that i've ditched Dropbox for only giving 2GB on their free plan, I've 25GB but i can't be bothered boosting my partner's up from that with the referral scheme inventing lots of Gmail accounts!!!being used to lightning fast response of smartphones, the only downsides i see are the slightly slow touchscreen, it has 256MB of DDR3 RAM but you can't expect iPhone buttery smooth speed... i don't mind, if i needed that level of quality, i'd be spending hundreds and not £75 - discounted from £150 on the black friday deal.superbly reliable and has survived a few house moves too.... kept original packaging.you can obviously copy and fax too, but less common, although making quick copies of driving licences or other important documents has been handy.quality workhorse with features to burn.

Not too shabby
I must admit I was concerned about getting this printer especially after seeing people weren’t getting free ink as promised. It’s a good all round decent printer. It is supported by instant ink. In fact it comes with 4 months free ink when you subscribe and set it up. It comes with a refer a friend system so you can use a code to also get free trial of ink. My code should you choose to use it is code no: kyxt37 This will get you and I extra free ink if you subscribe. Now at setup I couldn’t get passed a screen till I inserted a code which wasn’t in the box. So I searched online got code and entered it then my printer was setup. Something glitched somewhere but called hp instant ink customer services Amazon gave me the 4 months included activated the refer a friend and gave an extra month for my trouble as had to call customer service. Couldn’t ask for more. Printer works well even on photocopy type paper and is excellent on photo paper. Quick quiet and efficient. Inks sent out in plenty of time so I didn’t have to wait. Was setup for my iPhone and iPad really simply also on android. Friend says laptop was easy to as he bought one too. So don’t read and be put off the printer with negative reviews it really is ok. Don’t forget you can use my code above for free instant ink too. Enjoy
