I've been an old fan of the 980 Pro for years, it never failed me. This 990 Pro tops the performance and heat management! The highest temp in Asus NUC 14 Pro (Tall) is 50c under pressure. Just wow!

Nothing much to say — the performance speaks for itself. The Samsung 990 PRO SSD is incredibly fast, with read speeds up to 7,450 MB/s. I’m using it with a Gigabyte AORUS B850 motherboard, Ryzen 9 7900X processor, and RTX 5070. Everything runs super smooth — from boot times to gaming and heavy workloads. Perfect for high-end setups and definitely worth the investment.

The Samsung Magician program has a great suite of tools to check partitions, clone your drive, diagnose issues, etc. Overall I’m quite happy with Samsung’s tour-de-force SSD, that’s probably going to be the last gen 4 release.

The Samsung 990 PRO NVMe SSD is a significant upgrade from my old HDD. The difference in speed is immediately noticeable. Booting up my system, loading games, and transferring large files all happen much faster than before, which has greatly improved my overall workflow and gaming experience. Installation was straightforward and headache-free. The instructions were clear, and it slid right into my motherboard’s M.2 slot without any issues. The build quality feels very solid and premium, and the drive has a reassuring heft that makes it feel like a well-made, durable product. Performance-wise, the read and write speeds are outstanding. The PCIe Gen4 interface takes full advantage of modern motherboards, giving extremely fast data access, quick loading times for games and applications, and smooth file transfers. I also appreciate the thermal management features, which keep the drive cool during intensive workloads. One thing to keep in mind before purchasing is to check that your motherboard supports M.2 / NVMe SSDs.
