Nice flush fit, no stubbing your toe. Comes with handy tool for tightening fitting at installation. Easy clean trap remove outer grid with tool supplied. Outer grid with seal fit round outside is a snug fit so cannot be removed by toddlers hands. All in all quality product

I had purchased a waste with my shower tray from the manufacturer and when it arrived it looked like absolutely awful quality (thin, flimsy plastic with a plastic chromed cover). So I thought i would go ahead and buy one of these to see if it might be an improvement before doing the installation (especially since the waste will be a nightmare to replace once the show is installed). It turns out that this is a dramatic improvement. It is a heavy, solid, quality item that I felt far more confident in as I cemented the tray into place. It was also far easier to connect given how much better the metal threads works compared to the plastic ones on the first waste I bought. The flat metal grate is also far nicer than what I see on others. This has convinced me to look for more McAlpine products as I do more projects, even if they are far more expensive than some other options!

Always use McAlpine products because they are well made, fit together nicely, have colour-coding (i.e. 40mm have red inserts / 32mm have blue inserts) and feel solid. This was to replace a cheap 'free with purchase' 90mm shower trap that came with the tray. When held up to the sun, you could see through the 'free' product. The McAlpine one has much thicker and more durable plastic. Once fitted it looks good and the metal grating is smooth, level and well made/solid. There have been no flow problems with the trap that copes well with a power shower and has been used for a few months so far.

Its exactly as described. We have a overhead waterfall style shower and this is capable of handling that amount of water. We went with this knowing its expensive because the standard free dome style waste is not a great option when elderly are using the shower. Easy install no leaks. Expensive but you can feel the quality!

Stupidly used the waste that was provided with my shower, but after three good years, the waste failed and leaked through the floor and ceiling below. Read lots of reviews and decided this unit would be the replacement and I’m glad. Fitted it today - went it easily - and it looks a thousand times better than the unit we’ve removed. It’s solid, easy to fit (as long as you can get access to the old waste) and looks really smart. I’m very pleased and wish I’d fitted this first as last!
