A disappointment
I bought this device at the end of October in order to watch TV on my computer. I was delighted with it until about a month ago when it refused to "pick up" the TV channels. I feel that it should have lasted for more than a couple of months. Is it too lare to send it back and ask for a replacement? I shall try as when it worked it gave excellent results. J B Norman February 14th. Oh dear Oh dear Oh dear!. Having written the above, I thought that because the stick had been so briliant, I would order a replacement. About to set up the new one I found that the fault was NOT with the stick. Somehow the fact that my wife is an energetic cleaner may have something to do with the fact that the ariel connection had become dislodged. Result no TV picture. There is NOTHING wrong with the original! The TV picture is still brilliant. I am ordering a very large slice of humble pie for supper and apologise if I have put off anyone thinking of buying this excellent product. I now give it 5 stars. Question. What do I do with the new one? J B Norman

Excellent all-rounder
This is an excellent product, particularly bearing in mind the practically give-away price of about £12. I don't agree with other reviewers who criticise the software. It's well-laid out, capable, lacks nothing and works perfectly. So is the hardware. I'm using the device with a rooftop aerial and, as far as I can tell, it picks up all the channels I can get on my main TV, except Talking Pictures. The picture definition is not quite up there with the best you can get on a high definition TV or DVD recorder, but remarkably good all the same, especially considering this device is no bigger than a lipstick and you are viewing on a PC screen, not a dedicated TV. The recordings it achieves are as good as the original and you can edit them on video editing software. I use Adobe Premiere, which has no problem importing and editing the video files. The manufacturers state that their product is Windows 7-native, so I was not surprised to find some issues trying to make it work with my Windows 10 Pro PC. The main hurdle was that the driver on the CD would not install (but the operating software does). The support pages on the device's website have the solution to this known problem with Windows OSs newer than Windows 7 and you have to download and install manually as follows to resolve the issue: Please login as “administrator” on your computer and reinstall the driver. How do I log on as an administrator? http://windows.microsoft.com/en-GB/windows7/How-do-I-log-on-as-an-administrator 1. Download the driver http://www.climaxtech.co.uk/help/dtv/dtv330/DTV330.zip 1) then unzip it to C:\temp\dtv330 2. Plug the DTV330 into one of the USB 2.0 port 3. Insert the software CD into the CD-reader 4. Go to Device ManagerSound, Video and Game Controllersright click “DVB-T TV Stick” 5. Choose “Browse my computer for driver software” 6. Click “Browse..” to locate the downloaded driver C:\temp\dtv330\dtv330\windows If your windows is 64bit, please go to “x64” folder. If your windows is 32bit, please go to “x86” and click “OK” 7. Then click “next” and follow the online screen to get it installed. 8. As soon as the driver is installed, please right click the “DVB-T TV Stick” then click “properties”, the driver manufacturer should be “Siano Mobile Silicon” 9. Install the IR Please go to C: \temp\dtv330\dtv330\windows\ir and click setup to install it. 10. please do not use USB hub or power charger 11. please use a roof TV aerial if the TV signal is weak at your postcode 12. please try a different USB 2.0 port After doing the above, everything bar the remote control worked fine as described above. I took up the matter with the manufacturers' Support team and must credit them with their response efficiency -response times ranged from a matter of a few minutes to no more than a couple of hours. They advised me to download their new Windows 10 driver to make the remote control work and they offered a full refund if it didn't. I installed the new driver, but it didn't make any difference, the remote control still doesn't work. I haven't deducted any stars for this as I was aware of the issue before purchase and I bought it accepting this minor non-functionality. I have to add that I don't see the point of the remote control anyway as I would view the TV at arm's length of the PC so it's quicker and more convenient to operate the software with mouse and keyboard than with the remote control anyway. An excellent product all-around at a very economic price.

Works well but with issues
Bought this as a portable replacement for Hauppauge internal PCI TV card. Also wanted DAB radio. Does all it's supposed to and so far seems more reliable than the Hauppauge but there are issues:- 1) it doesn't remember the last used settings (or can someone enlighten me please?) so each time it starts it's back to full screen and you have to select mode; TV, DAB of FM Radio, or Video. 2) The The channel favourites lists are a fiddle to set up. 3) the USB device is quite chunky, it won't sit alongside a memory stick in my desktop PC; so that's an extra load of plugging and unplugging. For the same reason I I haven't even tried it in my netbook. In our area an external aerial is neded for good Freeview reception so when I go back to DAB I have to plug in a different aerial but that would be an issue for any Freeview/DAB device.

Great product
This is a great product and works well. It was easy to set up and the drivers where easy to find on the website and also came on a CD along with the Software. Everything works as it should, although I expected the quality of the Tv shows to be better if I am honest. It seems to look better on my TV when watching it live than it does watching it through this TV tuner. I've tried both Windows Media Center and the Total Media Software and the quality is OK but is still worse off than actually watching it on the TV. Not sure if its this USB tuner that's effecting the quality by encoding it or something else but I've tried everything i can to increase the quality but no luck. Basically your better of just not bothering recording TV these days, much easier to watch shows on BBC iPlayer or ITV player and so on. The Tuner works well, but I guess I expected better. If your looking for something that works well and is easy to setup but produces OK video quality then this is for you.

Climax Digital dongle
Picture and sound quality excellent... apart from the freezing. This makes it impossible to watch anything, far too irritating. The result was with a good quality signal from a roof aerial. Lots of channels found. Not recommended.

Buying this climax is like playing the lottery... After seeing just a few bad reviews and quick replies from Climax with instructions as comments to each bad review I thought that if I am to have a problem, at least they will provide a quick response and good customer service. As soon as I got it I tried installing it with the instructions provided, step by step, with no success. I have downloaded the drivers from their website, installing and uninstalling for a few hours and I gave up after seeing that it doesn't work in WMC either. Trying to get further instructions by email was another waste of time. I wrote them a couple of emails over the course of a week and didn't get any replies. I have managed to get a refund after filing a claim. Eventually I bought the cheapest one I could find on ebay, works like a charm!
