Will this pump transfer water from a water butt into an industrial tank which holds 1000 litres at a distance of 50 - 70 feet and up to top of tank?

I think it would. I use mine to empty a large hot tub and its got a lot of power. don't forget to buy a hose and jubilee clips as it doesn't come with them.

Can this pump run continuously? I would like to use it for aquaponics garden.

Probably yes. However we use it to pump dirty water from a septic tank into a dipersal pipe. The pump operates in a restricted area so the float doesn't always go down. We switch it on and off twice a week. In an unrestricted area i.e. a pond, allowing the float plenty of room, it should be OK.

How does this pump work with the lay z spa hot tubs?

We brought this for a pond not hot tub so don't know sorry

It does.pump really well, but doesn't get every inch of water out of the hot tub.ni'm guessing they are all like that though. Dont forget to buy hose and jubilee clips (I don't understand why it wouldn't come with them)
