Review: Excellent tarot book - This book is excellent easy to use has a lot of information on the Rider Waite cards. Card layouts, charts with zodia and tarot cards, gemstones to tarot cards etc. I definitely would recommend this book to new people to tarot Review: Highly recommended for beginners, but not limited to beginners! - A very well laid-out book, easy to read and pleasing on the eye. Have some lovely pictures of various tarot decks and has useful information for how to begin your tarot reading, and I like the fact it stresses the importance of developing and learning to trust your intuition. A professional tarot reader does not need pictures on the Minor Arcana in order to do a good reading. By pictures, I mean as in the Rider Waite deck, not as in the Marseilles' deck. There are absolutely loads of excellent beginner spreads as well as complex spreads for the more experienced. All-in-all a great book to own for any Tarot enthusiast and highly recommend it for beginners.

A great way to learn
Tarot is a strange thing to learn, because everyone will give you an interpretation, but you have to find your own. This book is probably one of the best I found when I started to learn the cards. It's clear and easy to follow, without getting lost in translation. But it also allows you to find your own definitions. The layout makes things very easy to find, and the collection of spreads at the end of the book are great to work through. You might want to change them slightly to suit your own purposes, but that's fine. They give a great foundation and basis to start from.

One I always turn to
I got this book when I returned to tarot reading after a 20-year gap. Not surprisingly, I had forgotten lots in the meantime, but this book has really got me up to speed, and I use it every day. My few quibbles are: the "...Bible" title - this is part of a series, all called "The ... Bible", and as a pagan I find redundant the Judaeo-Christian notion that a "Bible" is therefore definitive. (And it leads to some very odd titles too: "The Wicca Bible" anyone?) Also some of the (non-tarot) pictures inside are very 'Getty Images' - a little slick and manufactured. But on to the meat of it. Each card is illustrated clearly, using a Rider-Waite derived deck, and has a page of explanation opposite. The author explains not just the card's meaning, but how this can vary if the card is a blockage, for example. I've found this very useful when an unexpected card has cropped up and I've found it hard to interpret. There are LOTS of different spreads explained, which was a big surprise for me - I only ever used the Celtic Cross when I was younger, but now I've found very quick three-card spreads which are great for every day. The section on "relationship spreads" works least for me. Personally, I don't think turning over cards is anywhere near as informative as TALKING TO your partner, but that's just me perhaps. In all, this book is well worth the cover price, and is a very clear and easy read. If you're a total newbie, it's a great buy - some books seem to want you to steep yourself in esoteric study for months before touching a card, but this will get you cracking out the cards and doing simple readings from Day One, which I think is great. As with all this series, the paper and cover stock are good, the font clear and easy to read and it's overall an extremely user-friendly product that really helps to make its subject accessible and enjoyable.

One of the best around
The book is well designed, easy to consult, very well written and it fundamentally is all that it says on its cover, an essential guide to the Tarot. I also like the angle it takes which is never a gloom and doom one as some of the other textbooks may have but a much more contemporary one instead.

Small Treasure, don't miss
the best tarot book I ever purchased, It's small but it's a great treasure, each card has it's own 2 pages, It gives you most of the information you need, I wish I discovered this book before buying the books of some well known the best labelled ones, it's a great treasure, Plus the generous spread suggestions that you can only find at books for spreads, I've got loads of books from different authors, some retired, some new, some has just published their first book, but except for the few the rest is a waste of money.

Good ,Clear and to the Point
I am new to using Tarot Cards, I purchased a pack of tarot cards a while ago but found the booklet which came with them lacking detail or real direction, which rapidly brought my use of the tarot cards to a end. With the purchase of this book I have found the same tarot cards to be so much more informative and interesting. Though I can only still call myself a beginner I feel I am now on the path of gaining more from the cards. Firmly recommend

Great For The Beginner Or Those At The Intimediate Level
This book is very descriptive, with clear pictures and exercises at the back to improve ones skills. There are also various spreads from the popular, to the rare. Such as the typical relationship spreadsbut then there are also the spreads for oneself such as "secret you." Although I think this book is aimed at beginners and those at the intermediate level, I think those who are more experienced would appriciate it due to the various spreads towar the end of the book.

Book is in perfect condition although it was second hand item. Very easy to understand, coloured pictures, comprehensive and perfect size for a handbook. Recommended for beginners but advanced readers will benefit this book as well.

This book was recommended in another book. I decided to leap on this purchase with its current price because the sample wasn't enough to encourage its purchase. WOW! What a great investment piece for understanding the Tarot. I have numerous books on the subject but this little gem provides so many different ways to go down the rabbit hole, so to speak. Besides the evaluation of the individual cards there is wonderful information about tarot with astrology, numerology, and crystals. The various spreads provided with "why" instructions is an added bonus.
