Sturdy, versatile and brilliant build quality.
Best case I have ever owned hands down. There is nothing wrong with case at all, It's a clear 5 stars in my opinion. It looks great and has so much functionality. The cable management is outstanding, every single cable from the PSU are fed through the back where already attached cable ties make keeping them organized easy. There are also 2 SSD bays at the back which eliminates the need for any hard drive cages to be in the case (all of which are removable - so are the disc drive cages). Right now I have 2 SSDs in the back and 0 wires around the front getting in the way of the airflow. I also have no hard drive cages and no optical drive cage. My pc parts are running cooler than ever with just the stock fans the case comes with, the airflow is great and the case is extremely quiet. There is sound proofing material on the sides, top and front panels all of which make the machine you put inside near silent. This doesn't however mean the case is just a silent one which is where it really shines; the case is very versatile and you can take out the top silent panels and place fans there. I would recommend this case for any build, it has fully removable parts and everything is customizable, not only this but you can go full silent, full cooling or a combo of both. I have nothing negative to say about this case, even the looks are to my personal preference.

Super practical for server
The Fractal Define 5 case has been absolutely ideal for my home server setup. It’s incredibly practical, with eight 3.5" caddy slots, two 2.5" slots, and two 5.25" slots—just what I needed for a case that could handle a good number of drives. There’s also plenty of space to hide cables, which really helps keep everything tidy, and the case includes filters on the front to help keep dust out. There’s ample room to add fans for extra airflow as well, making it versatile for any setup. The interior sound padding is a fantastic touch, and I barely hear the server running in my office. Plus, when I accidentally misplaced some of the original screw fittings, Fractal’s customer service sent a replacement pack free of charge. Outstanding quality and support—this case is excellent value for money and highly recommended!

Very easy and tidy build
I used this case for a new build replacing my existing desktop PC which I built around 8 years ago. The new build is based around a Ryzen7 CPU. I switched from HDDs to SSDs and used a modular PSU. The result is a cool and very neat build. As well as plenty of bays for HDDs, SSDs and optical drives etc within the main body of the case there are also additional mount points behind the MB for 2 SSD drives. There are concealed cable exit points alongside the MB mounts which allow all cables to routed out of sight behind the MB and drive bays. Along with a modular PSU this enabled me to achieve a very neat build. Consequently, airflow through the case is excellent and I found that the 2 (very quiet) included fans are perfectly adequate for my unclocked CPU. This case is fairly big and in particular seems quite wide (across the front) at 23cm but the benefit is the tidy cable runs and the good ventilation. Build quality is excellent, it looks quite understated in matt black and dark grey satin effect front panel. The 2 USB2, 2 USB3 and headphone ports on the top of the front panel (there are more on the back panel) are very convenient. There is an easy to remove (clean) dust grille accessible by opening the hinged front panel. Some reviewers mentioned that their case arrived damaged but my case arrived in a pristine condition well packaged in polystyrene and a stout cardboard box. All in, there are really no negatives I can see with this case, hence my 5*

Unbelievable quality for the price. A joy to work with.
Upgrading from an Antec P182 performance case which I've had for almost 10 years. Cost me nearly £180 at the time. It was a very high end case so I wanted something of similar build quality. I wasn't disappointed with the r5. The case feels solid, has tons of room, excellent cable management and customisation options to fit your setup. The included silent fractal r2 140mm fans and basic fan controller are the icing on the cake. Was very easy to assemble due to the helpful instructions which tells you what screws are for which part of the case. The low noise and almost zero vibration of the case is another plus. It's very very quiet (thanks to the sound dampening pads on each side and front). Noise sits at roughly 39-42db with the db meter right next to the case. This is with the 2 fractal r5 fans pulling in air at the front and a corsair SP120 exhausting air at the back. Arctic cooler freezer 13 CPU cooler and a Arctic Accelero Twin Turbo II GPU cooler. The ONLY negative I have is front door. It feels a little flimsy when opening/closing due to the plastic latch. Just a niggle as my old Antec case had a magnetic latch which gave it a much more satisfying feel when closing it. Not enough to mark it down. TL;DR - It's good, buy it.

Great a little heavy but perfekt for our NAS

The reason why I post this review is to correct some of the negative comments (reviews) I read. 8 Motherboard standoff screws are included (ATX has 9 holes), because the MoBo positioning pin occupies the middle hole. I have one small issue. The case comes with 2 fans with only 2 pins, which means it has no speed control. All my other fans have 4 pins and daisy chain connectors, so I can vary RPM per group or single fan. My PC is always powered up, but it seems like it's OFF. It makes no sound whatsoever. Best case ever!
