I have an old macbook pro that has the magsafe2 power connector and it was really annoying having the cable completely fray (good job apple!) several times just to have to buy a very expensive complete replacement. I had the thought whether you could get a USB-C to magsafe2 cable as I already had a power pack that took a USB C connector. Sure enough I found this and ordered it! It has worked great for me, sometimes it seems to struggle to charge but this is fairly rare and the indicator light on the cable tells you - I just take it out and reconnect it and it works. It is great to have this as an option and not be tied into the overly expensive Apple ecosystem!

Works great, make sure you have a usb c PD power supply that has at least as many watts of power as your original charger. For my 2015 MacBook pro 15", this is 85 watts. Build quality seems solid. It's more convenient to use an existing power supply or power bank along with this cord than lug a dedicated brick to charge the MacBook. It also offers more flexibility and charging options.

Works as expected, seems well-made. Will give it 5 stars if it passes the test of time, and in case it doesn't I ordered two more since they are inexpensive. Update: became intermittent and increasingly unreliable. My computer wouldn't boot today, which may be more than coincidence. I had to restore my disk image for the first time ever on a computer that I've had for ten and a half years with no such issues. Throwing these away. A good concept but whether or not it caused my computer to malfunction it became increasingly unreliable, unlike my OEM charger which is going strong ten plus years in. Oh well.

I have the L tip as the backup and I oredered this T tip use for the main power supply for my 2015 MBP, so far so good no proplem at all.

This was a perfect fit for my new USB-C power supply, my old apple one died, and the cable crumbled, but to be honest it lasted 10 years (Retinaetina 15" MacBook Pro 2014), so I went to get a replacement power supply, but of course, almost all third party and OEM at a good price are USB-C only. I went with a 100W 3 USB-C one and bought this cable to replace my old supply, and this worked great! it also looks and feels better than the OEM cable. as it has flexible support on the USB-C end. so far I have used it daily for about a month with no downsides.

I have a couple of older MacBooks and they use the MagSafe 2 connector. This cable is the best thing for having the new MacBook Pro charging brick. The cable is long and haven’t had any issues with it so far

I wasn't rough with this cable, but it stopped working after about 2 weeks of usage. I'm using it with a 140W Apple brick, which is a nice power supply. This didn't break because of the power, it broke because the joint between the magsafe2 end and the cable is weak. When I jiggle the cable near that plug, it comes back on temporarily. Appears as though nothing is wrong, but it is obviously a low quality cable or a bad solder connection (or both).
