Can be CARAMELISED!
I've become pleased with these onions once I figured out how best to use them. For the best texture place a small saucepan or frying pan on your scales and zero it. Now add 1/10th of the required amount of fresh onion (size charts available online , find one that works with your idea of small, medium and large, and bookmark it). Next top up with water until the equivalent fresh onion weight is achieved. Simmer gently under a lid at first, and then without until all the water is gone. This should take about 10 minutes, any less and the heat is too fierce. When the water is almost all gone add a touch of fat of your choice and stir it about to distribute evenly, but before you do taste a piece and see if you need to add a tablespoon or two more water. Cook until the onions begin to sizzle. To use the onions in your regular recipe proceed as usual from the point where they are beginning to look cooked and glistening. NB, the onions aren't really cooked at this point, they're at the equivalent point of starting to sweat fresh ones. Now, to CARAMELISE them add a little more oil as need and a pinch of (demerara) sugar and keep going. As long as you've first cooked in enough water the magic will happen and the flavour will blossom. Once done mine were indistinguishable from caramelised onions made from fresh. The one downside is that for some reason dried onions are harder on the digestion than fresh ones. This is well known in trekking circles but may be news to you. It's something to keep on mind. In conclusion, I'm happy to have some to hand in my cupboard and they do get used and replaced, so they're not "victuals of last resort" a step ahead of cannibalism (SOS mix, I'm looking at you!), far from it, but they won't ever entirely replace fresh onions either. It's good to sieve out the dust as you get toward the end of the packet. It's bonus onion powder, so keep it and use it, but it does clag up the pieces if what you're after is browned onions.

Kibbled onion
I bought my first bag of this just over a year ago, and it's lasted me till now, so it's amazing value. I add it dry to rice dishes, pasta sauces, pasta bakes, soups, stews, etc, and it quickly rehydrates during cooking. It adds a lovely taste and texture. It can also be ground down to little more than powder very easily, and can be used to make onion dip with sour cream, or plain greek yogurt, Will definitely buy again, probably this time next year.

OK but a bit coarse
Nice flavour that carried well as part of a dry rub on pork for the BBQ. Somewhat coarser textured than I was expecting but, something that's easily remedied with a pestle and mortar.
