Got this as I've had an interest in pursuing a path in Wiccan for a long time but was often overwhelmed with different information and points of view, this book is brilliant at explaining the basics of Wicca for beginners in an easy to understand guide that explains it from a more general point of view rather than specific points of view which is much more helpful in getting an overall understanding of Wiccan! I would highly recommend this book to anyone who is interested in this path and wants to get a much better understanding without being overwhelmed by all the different versions that the practice offers! It's a perfect starting point! Very very happy with this purchase and will be buying more books on the topic from this author! Thanks!

This is my first Wiccan/witchcraft book I've purchased as I've only recently became comfortable with starting my path seriously. The main thing newbies will feel is "where do I start?!" This book... This book is a great book if you're new to Wiccan/craft even pagan studies as they are all mentioned in here. Very informative and easy to read I could not put it down the writer always encourages throughout the book to only do what you feel comfortable with and read as many reference books as you can to help you on your journey. I also loved the handy little charts at the end and list of reference books that may be of interest. Definitely will be buying more books by this writer!

As a recent follower of all things Pagan and Wicca this guide I found to be an essential read. Lisa Chamberlain knows her subject and how to get the basics across. Most of the information I had already gleaned from other more indepth books but as a direct and simple explanation of Wiccan practices I would recommend this book as a first contact on the subject. It's written in a very easy to understand way for interested parties and leaves you with a desire to know more. Lisa Chamberlain has written more books on Wicca which are good as additional reads.

If you're looking for a brief, broad introduction to Wicca, this is a good place to start. It is accessible and has an easy to read style. However, it is a little hazy on the differences between Wicca, Witchcraft, and who uses magic and who doesn't.

What a fabulous book, perfect for anyone wanting to find out about Wicca without becoming overwhelmed with the vastness of the subject. I read the book in just a few hours & shall be re-reading it very soon. I loved how the author wrote, I felt she was directing her words at me personally & became quite engulfed by the enchantment of Wicca. I have ordered another of Lisa's books as I was so taken with her writing style (and topic), I definitely recommend this book. Blessed be.

This was a fantastic choice of book for me to start my journey into Wicca. It pleasantly breaks everything down into easy, understandable & dare I say “not boring” sections which help you understand the feelings you have for this subject & the ways to help you progress. I look forward to reading other books by Lisa to help me on my journey. I have a great deal of my life which is looking for fulfilment & I feel that I am now on the correct path.

I have now read this book 3 times, and have enjoyed doing so each time! I feel that the author has successfully conveyed to readers that there are many paths into Wicca, and that we should respect others for the paths they choose. The book is also written in a way that doesn't reject or belittle others' beliefs, but rather informs the reader and allows them to make up their own mind. All in all, a fantastic book which I will no doubt read again! :)

I've only just received this book so haven't had a chance to read it yet but I'm confident that it will be very useful judging by all of the positive feedback, I'm writing my feedback now because the book itself is warped, at first I thought it was a fault so sent it back for an exchange but this one has arrived today in exactly the same condition as the first one, I do like brand new books to be in pristine condition so find this annoying, hopefully the contents will more than make up for this, I ordered three of Lisa Chamberlain's books and they all have this warped effect.

This book is great for small witches who are just starting out and want to learn a bit more about the history of wiccas and witches! It tells you so much useful information!

A clear concise guide to the world of Wicca. As a Hindu and a Sikh, I was keen to compare the parallels between the primeaval Vedic faith practiced on the Indian subcontinent (that later developed into the Dharmic faiths )and the faith of the Celtic peoples of Europe .While I may not choose to follow this path, I can at least hold an educated discussion on the topic. The list of further reading at the end of the book shall prove to be useful in my quest .

This book is the perfect introduction to Wicca. The information given wasn't overwhelming or intense, it was just the perfect amount to swallow and leave me feeling even more curious about the history (which I like). I loved it because I feel like I already have some of the many beliefs that are considered Wiccan and I just didn't realize it. It's such an open-minded belief system and this book had a very mellow, open-minded approach and I just loved it and couldn't recommend it enough to someone interested in Wicca.

Really enjoyed it. It allows you to be open to new ideas without pressure or trying too influence. It is informative, without being overwhelming. A good place to start. Thank you.
