Matt Xtra 50mmx50m Tape - Black

Bought this Magtape thinking it would just be normal black tape, but this stuff is basically the handyman’s version of dark magic. It sticks to everything — wood, metal, plastic, hopes, dreams — and once it’s on, it’s not going anywhere without a formal eviction notice. Used it for cables, tools, a cracked plastic box, and even a temporary fix on a garden chair that had no business surviving. It held like it was powered by spite and determination. The matt finish looks clean and professional, not shiny and cheap, and the roll is massive — feels like it’ll last until the end of time. If you need tape that actually does the job without peeling off five minutes later, this stuff is an absolute beast.

What has my life become? I'm reviewing tape! Magtape is an industry standard - strong, durable, virtually indestructible, and doesn't leave residue. When it comes to taping down cables, whether to a corner or on carpet, you're securing what you need, and you're able to rip it up without worrying about damaging what was underneath it. It's literally indispensable when you need stuff taped down, such as in a studio location, and with 50 metres of it per roll it's an invaluable essential.

I use Magtape a lot. Everything from taping down cables, attaching gels to lights and attaching mics to talent. I can't see any reason in a photo/video scenario not to go for the Matt Xtra as it avoids reflections on set. Very sticky but leaves no residue.

This is not mag tape, this is cheap gaffer tape.

Great gaffa, rips easy and leaves no residue. I recommend this if you want to save some money but don’t want to go super basic.

Quality tape which rips of with a small amount of effort (so its is strong but easily used without a knife). Good for books but not the Gaffa tape I'm used that sticks to anything. If you want the super sticky tape - this isnt it.

It’s sticky but doesn’t leave residue. It’s matte, not reflective. It tears easily, but not too easily.
