Pentel Arts Pocket Brush Refills, Black Ink, Value Set of 12

I am a regular user and massive fan of Pentel's Pocket brush pens and I have a black ink and sepia ink version. The black ink one was running out and so I knew I needed to order some more from somewhere. A lot of the UK suppliers were charging a prohibitively high price, which I couldn't see was justified. Luckily there is this supplier but the downside is they ship from Japan so you will wait longer for them to arrive. I didn't have to wait too long and the timing was excellent as my last remaining cartridge gave up the ghost as these were delivered. For those who don't know, the ink in these cartridges is Pentel's permanent ink and it is rich, dark black, pretty quick drying and very water-resistant, meaning you can use it with watercolours etc. The only comparable pens and ink in my opinion would be Kuretake's, though their permanent ink cartridges (as supplied with the No.85 brush pen) are impossible to buy here and are not as water-resistant as Pentel's anyway. You can apparently use Platinum carbon ink cartridges (which are very water-resistant) in the Kuretake's but I haven't tried that yet. The photos are of drawings using the Pocket brush pen and the ink in these cartridges with Pentel's colour brush pens. If you have a Pentel Pocket brush pen (and why wouldn't you?) then you will need new cartridges before too long and if so these are, according to my research, the best price per cartridge.

I bought these because the price was too good to miss, and despite the current postal shenanigans (not the seller's fault, I will add!) the product eventually arrived and was exactly as described. Seller was courteous and quick to respond when I originally raised that my order was delayed. To the product itself, Pentel Manga Brush Pens are a vital part of any ink artist's arsenal, it's a damned shame the pens don't take generic cartridges but the quality of the ink (the blackest of blacks for comic and bristol board artwork) is unsurpassed and saves a lot of mess and fuss when trying to use bottled ink and brushes as an alternative (Pentel obviously know this which is why normally you'll pay an arm and a leg for these refills and the pens themselves!)

As a cartoonist, I fell in love with the Pentel brush pen. These cartridges are an essential accessory (unless Pentel come up with a fefillable device such as those available for fountain pens, of course!).

Good but most dry out quick, stock age?

Just picking up one of these in my local stationary store costs the same as the whole 12 pack here. Great value. As always with Pentel, great coverage, deep black and lasts ages.

Product arrived a few weeks earlier than expected, and I’ve used these cartridges before and they work great. Ink is good quality and water restistant and are great value for 12 of them as they are normally pretty expensive. The parcel also arrived with a handwritten letter with a Totoro stamp from the seller which was really nice of them! 10/10 Would recommend

This pen drinks ink. Combining with the fact that if it’s left brush-down it can leak, refills are a necessity. I still adore the pen, best brush pen I’ve ever used. But being able to buy a whole load of refills cheaply is great.
