Probably the fastest portable drive currently available. Using it on a Mac Mini and it is nearly as fast as the inbuilt storage. Makes editing videos and photos super quick. The design is very sleek and it is small and very portable. It stays cooler than expected. The included cable is quite short but does the job. It is really expensive and only provides the top speeds with thunderbolt. If you have only usb 3.2 or don’t need the fastest available then there are much cheaper options available.

i wanted a fast 2tb drive for my MBP. i looked at other makes but they were fast on a PC but some reason were throttled and didnt run full speed on a Mac. I did more research and found this drive that is very fast and runs full speed on my 14 inch M1 MBP I cant recommend it highly enough

Cable stopped working after one month.

Smaller than the photos suggest. Windows 11 wouldn't recognise the drive at first. Had to initialise and format the drive before I could use it. Used AOMEI Partition Assistant for this, but there are plenty of other disk management/partition programs out there. Need at little bit of technical knowledge to set-up. Shame it wasn't 'plug-and-play' out of the box. Initialised with 1 partition. Works fine after setting up. Supplied with 2 cables: USB C to USBC and USB C to USB A.

It was made for the Mac! Set up for Time Machine was simple. Remains gently warm. Recovery of an accidentally deleted folder was easy and quick. Perhaps a bit pricey, but you get what you pay for - a first class portable drive.

Super easy plug and play it gets hot but I guess that’s normal for any external hard drive but no issue did not had to install any software or needed to format it just worked as soon as you plugin on my MacBook Pro m1

Expensive, but that’s the price for a well made product with great speed.

I bought one of these to store massive amounts of data, and had no problems at all with it; it worked straight out of the box with my Mac Pro. Consequently I bought another as backup, and it has performed equally well.

Mi ritengo comunque soddisfatto poichè acquistato da Amazon Warehouse a quasi metà prezzo rispetto al nuovo, in ottimo stato. Mi riservo di eseguire ulteriori prove con altri PC Windows più recenti in modo da testarne le effettive prestazioni. Come sempre un grazie ad Amazon per qualità e tempi di consegna più che rispettati. Spero esservi stato utile.

I almost returned this drive because it would just hang and crash Mac's finder every time I plugged it in at first. Updating the operating system to the version mentioned above solved the problem. I formatted the drive as APFS in Disk Utility and it is running well. It's not the fastest possible USB-C connection for these new Macs (which theoretically accept connections that are twice as fast) but those faster-connection SSDs are only just starting to hit the market, so they are more expensive, less battle-tested, and choice is very limited–whereas these G-drives have a long history of use and are starting to come down to the right price point (still quite expensive though). The drive does not seem to overheat as long as you have it in a ventilated area. I edit 4k video with it and have done so in home office, cafes and planes. The portability and reliability are top-notch.
