Is hammer, has hook, decent camping tool for good price

Though there were a few not-so-good reviews of this hammer, I purchased it anyway because the specification showed that it was exactly what I needed and the price-point was really good. I could not be happier with this tool! The quality is very good and it works like a charm for tents stakes and other light duty needs. I really like the fact that it does the job and its about half the weight of a regular claw hammer, which I carried in the past. I would definitely purchase this item again if needed.

I like the hammer, but it's weight is fairly low. That may be good if you're backpacking, but it makes for less efficient hammering for typical camping. The build quality seems mediocre. I don't feel like I'm holding a high quality product when I use it. It does work fine. I don't like the strap that's on it, it seems superfluous. The hook on the bottom to remove tent stakes is awesome and works great. Overall, I'd be happy to purchase this again at a low price.

You don't really need this thing and I sure wouldn't take it on a backpacking trip. But for family camping with a bigger tent with lots of tie-downs, I find it really helpful. Works well, gets stakes out quickly and more easily than yanking just with hands. I'm not sure I like the wrist strap; I may just remove it. I saw one reviewer say it's good as it keeps you from accidentally flinging anything by accident. but I kind of just find it in the way.

Really nicely designed hammer for camping. Nothing more to say. It's not for a lightweight backpacking trip but for any other camping I can highly recommend.
