Excellant clamps to use

Good clamps
Slide well on pipe, tighten well, release easily. Nice size surface. Heavy, but that’s a good thing (and not nearly as heavy as the pipes!!).

Improves flatness of glue ups
These clamps perform very well and provide a platform for accurate glue-ups.

Easy fix for a difficult problem. I plan to buy more!
Anyone who has ever needed a long wood clamp, knows this story. A 3 foot long clamp will cost around 40 bucks and will be made with a metal bar that bends when clamped. Finding a longer clamp is hard enough, but the expense just won't be worth it. So, I bought a ten foot length of black pipe for $24, with threads on each end. Used a cheap angle grinder to cut it in half, then ten seconds on a bench grinder rounded the sharp edges, with a rat-tail file to quickly finish the inside edges. The threaded ends screw right into the pipe clamp and the opposing piece slides on without hassle. Literally five minutes after I opened the box, I had two, 5-foot wood clamps, ready to go. And they are much more solid than anything you can buy on a store shelf. My only question is the metal coils that come in the kit. What are they for? Thanks, PONY!

Only threads two threads onto pipe had to use pipe tap to open up
Good quality but pipes only thread in about two threads tried various different pipes and they all went to threads so I had to use a pipe tap to open up the threads where they would fit properly on a pipe so if you don’t have a pipe tap I’d try a different brand

High Quality
These are high quality clamps and really came in handy when I was building mobile shelves for those Home Depot 27gallon bins.

Better built than the cheap ones...
These are excellent pipe clamps and are quite strong. Be aware that it is very easy to over-tighten these on softwoods and if you use a good quality metal pipe, they won't bend or flex. They'll break the wood before you bend a clamp or a pipe.
