I put this in a standard Zippo case and yes, it is very tight. But, after reading the other reviews I had expected it. A previous reviewer had pointed out 6 plastic nubs on the side of the insert that could be smoothed out for a better fit. So I took my jackknife and whittled them down until I could slide it in and out more easily. Then I took a drop of oil and wiped it around the sides of the insert to help also. Filled it with butane, had to bleed off the pressure when it was half full and then it filled completely. It holds a lot of butane and it is really nice to be able to see exactly how much you have left. It works perfectly, looks great and is well made. I should probably give it 4 stars because you shouldn't have to modify an item to make it work properly. I really don't know why they put those 6 plastic nubs on the tank but now that I've got it to fit, it really is excellent. 5 stars.

The lighter itself appears to work great, but the main claim to be a zippo drop in insert is not accurate. I see some reviews that say it's "tight" fitting in the outer case. I have a newer genuine zippo I wanted to get this for, and it fits partway in but not far enough to allow the top to close completely. I tried pushing it in with a lot of force and it still didn't seat at the bottom. Then it jammed in the case so tightly it couldn't be pulled out again by hand; I had to use a pair of channel locks and a rag (so as not to damage it) to get it back out. If I were to force it to close it would definitely damage the hinge permanently. My case is not dented or damaged in any way that would prevent it from fitting, and I've swapped other "conventional" zippo inserts into it and they fit as they should. Unless someone can point me to a zippo case this will fit in, I'm going to have to call this one a waste of money - I just wish I hadn't filled it before test fitting it or I would have returned it.

I smoke Cigars and use these on almost all of them. Although there are only 2 jets, they work almost 100% of the time. I have had other lighters that do not light - or not all of the jets light - without having to click the button or tab or whatever you all it to light the lighter. So, 2 jets that alwyas work are better than 4 or 5 that sometimes light. These inserts are easy to fill up. Because they are clear it is easy to see when there is enough fuel in it. They do fit nicely in my Zippo - although on a couple of them, the lid is not all the way shut - maybe 1/16 in open but that has never caused me any issues. I absolutely love the fact that the jets are angled so that they come to a point instead of having 2 separate jets that just shoot upward. For me, this makes it easier to control where the fire will light my cigars and also make the 2 jets seem stronger. I would 100% recomed these inserts to anyone who uses zippo type lighters for any reason and want a reliable easy to use and refill lighter - and with the zippo cases variety of designs this should suit almost anyone!!!

It works, I replaced my zippo butane unit with this because I had to send it back for replacement after four years. The lighter so far works great. My only issue is that the lid lever never snaps back like a name brand version. Also it does not fit the case very well. It stands taller than the OEM and that can also interfere with the lid. The lid never closes properly and make the use of the lighter clumsy. It’s a good lighter they need to improve the fit, snap of the lid and the feel. I have tried the insert on many of my vintage and modern zippos and same results of fit, lid and feel.

I was duped into buying the Zippo Brand Double Torch Lighters. I had 4 of them and 2 of them had slow leaks, so they would literally be empty when I would try and use them. Fool me once shame on Zippo, fool me twice shame on me. I could also not stand that the Zippo Double Torch has NO way to see if the tank is empty or full. The Zippo Double Torch Lighters are not trustworthy in 2023. A lighter needs to be trust worthy. As far as the Coldown Butane Lighter Dual Torch Insert is concerned I appreciate the angled jets that combine into a single point. Very cool. Also, I was able to fit this lighter insert into my Zippo Armor shell, Zippo Standard shell, and even my 3rd party shell. It actually fits 1% tighter than the Zippo inserts which I actually think is a positive. No one wants an insert that is slipping out. Now for the real test. Will it stand the test of time? My fingers are crossed. Honestly if it doesn't leak. It is already better than the name brand in my book. And the clear tank gives me peace of mind.
