This unit has the correct drive gear for the 400m engine
Came in a package that fit well at was in good shape. The drive gear matched the Ford gear on the original distributor exactly. Installed and functioned with no issues.

Get product fired right up
I had a little more trouble installing this type of distributor than the original type but once I got it in it fired right up. It only uses one wire which eliminated about 10 wires from ignition module and coil. Once it was in, the truck fired up and idled really nice. Defiantly worth it. I hope it lasts!

Very cheap distributor
I put this distributor in my ford 460 as it's advertised and it wiped out the cam gear and distributor drive gear within 5 miles of driving. Pulling it out and the gear was too small. Would not recommend this product to anyone.

One wire, loads of spark and a pretty cool look
Put this in a Ford 400. Trying to clean up the inner fenders and engine wiring. This is a good option for sure. The only thing I will have to keep an eye on is when the hold down is loose so I can adjust timing the whole top of the dizzy wobbles around. Like it's doing the hula. It stops when the hold down is tightened so it's probably just side to side clearance in the hole itself. Install took 45 minutes and I've never heard this engine run as good as it does now. Also something to think about is air cleaner clearance and if you are running the factory motorcraft 2 bbl, the screw in filter is just short enough the get the fuel hose on but long enough to put a little kink in itas it hits the cap and the area where the electrical plug sticks out. I already had 2 fuel filters before that so I bought a 3/8" nipple fitting and all is good. This should not be a problem if you have a 4bbl though. My 14" air cleaner also clears.
