No quality loss - if you hear hissing/buzzing, it might be your other cables.
TL;DR: There is no audio quality loss by introducing this switcher into your signal chain. How I figured that out: I bought this to hook up my gaming PC and my laptop to my Logitech Z-5300e 5.1 system. When I first plugged everything in and with no audio playing, I heard a loud hiss coming out of my speakers. I first thought it was this switcher, but after plugging in each 1/8" audio cable one at a time to the Logitech subwoofer input (PC, laptop, and switcher), I realized the hiss was coming from the cable plugged into my laptop's sound card. The hiss was always there, I just hadn't noticed it before doing all this A/B testing. So if you experience the same thing, I encourage you to check each cable you're using and make sure you don't have inherent issues already. Caveat: if you have a noisy device or cable like I did, you will hear that hiss/buzz coming through this switcher if your system is on and you're not playing anything. That's because it's a very basic A/B splitter and doesn't have anything pro equipment would have, like true channel isolation or a high quality output stage. But this will be a non-issue if your equipment is quality and you have no existing noise to deal with.

Nice little guy
Works great. No loss in sound quality, no additional buzz. Makes it easy to switch between two devices connected to the same speaker. Also comes with a nice quality AUX cord which I didn’t expect.

Constant static noise makes this unusable
Terrible and unusable. No matter what cables I use with this (have tried several including newly purchased ones) the sound ALWAYS has a static noise in the background, rendering it unusable! DO NOT BUY THIS unless you love terrible static sound constantly.

Had to buy everyone else one too
I love this thing, it allows me to access my phone and charge it at the same time. I was recently on a long trip, but able to ready my kindle app and watch movies without draining my phone because of this. Once they saw it, other family members "needed" one too....we're all pleased with it.

It works fine
I have a Samsung S21+. The Y splitter works fine, just takes some tinkering.
