UPDATED REVIEW FOR THE VSDISPLAY 12.3" PORTIBLE STRETCHED MONITOR FOR 2ND TIME
UPDATE REVIEW 06/27/24I updated my review for the VSDISPLAY 12.3" Stretched Monitor for the 2nd time. The first time I updated my review I went from 1 star to 4 stars. This time I am adding 1 star going from 4 stars to 5 stars. This time I also added a photo so I could show everyone how the stretched monitor looks like with the sensor panel on display that I made using Aida64.My first review I gave the VSDISPLAY 12.3" Stretched Monitor a one star rating because of four issues I had with it. One issue I had was how thick and heavy it was. This is no longer an issue since I now have the monitor sitting on my desk and I do not have to worry about it tipping over because it is thick and heavy. It sits on my desk like a paper weight. The second issue I had was it had a white bleeding issue when starting up but I was being picky and you cannot see it when the monitor is on. The third issue I had was no instructions was included with the monitor. This issue still stands. The fourth issue I had was no bolts / screws were included to mount it. Since I will be keeping the monitor on my desk now, that no longer matters. If I decide in the future to use a VESA mount with it, the VESA mount should have the mounting bolts / screws. So my one star rating has been updated to four stars as now I really like the monitor since I have been using it. The resolution is very good and so the sensor panel I have displayed on it is very easy to read. The main reason I bought the monitor is to display a sensor panel so I know what is going on with my computer specs and it is doing the job I bought it for. A side note: you have to buy sensor panel software if you want to display a sensor panel on the monitor. Also, one final note: this stretched monitor has a wider ratio ( width x length ) then most other stretched monitors, so in my case for the sensor panel I designed I was able to display more information and use larger type, gauges etc. So I give this stretched monitor a solid four stars. I did minus one star because it had no instructions. It should have instructions.

Works fine for what it is, don't expect too much of it
I got this because I've always wanted like a long narrow strip of a screen that I can have below my computer or on the side for like lists, video content playing on the side, or below my main screen for just timelines like in video editors. There aren't very many screens that do that and they're specialty like this with weird resolutions and not like "flagship products" for anyone because it's a very niche thing unfortunately. So it MOSTLY does what I want and is sort of just a cute novelty. The contrast and saturation are a little extreme to compensate for the low resolution like cheap screens do, but I'm not staring it it alone for long periods. It would hurt my eyes if I was. The mounting on it is strange, nothing standard so I had to drill into a vesa mount to get it on the arm I wanted. It's a plain generic screen covered with a metal shell, so I built a sort of "case/frame" on the outside of it with Lego so I can attach some funy things to the top if I want.Actually using it as a timeline screen below my computer doesn't work that well. I'm on a Mac going into a 4k LG monitor on a big arm, so I have this on an arm off to it's left. The resolution is just low enough that since it's trying to match with the main screen then text is super tiny and not easy to see. Anyway, if you must have a little narrow monitor it does the job and works fine. There's a remote with it too that works fine but I don't have a need for that, I can't see why anyone would, it seems like they could do away with that.So I think it's great if you keep your expectations realistic, it won't look like an ipad, which should be expected. I guess I kind of hoped that with all the high tech junk, phones, tablets, great lightweight monitors that operating systems might eventually start to accomodate a whole ton of resolutions or have ways of adding and removing various odd shaped screens easily to a setup but that hasn't happened, and I guess that would be really complicated to do and people don't care for that.
