Buy a name brand rod Update!- seller reached out to me and after I addressed my issues with the rod and explained that I had returned it because I needed a rod for an upcoming trip. Customer service is excellent. They explained that they would look into the packaging of the rods for future shipping. They also sent me a replacement rod and kept me up to date with all of the shipping information. Rod showed up today and looks to be in perfect condition, as one should expect it too. It's a great feeling rod. Grip is wrapped very nicely and being a 3 piece rod will be great for transporting. I will not be getting out with it for a few months but will update again once I get some time with it. So far I'd say it's worth giving it a shot if you're looking for a bargain rod with a great feel. Bought a similar feeling rod and it was 2x the price. My plans for this rod is crab sharing on the pacific coast casting 4-8oz snares so I will definitely be putting it to the test. For now I'm giving 5 stars until I can use it🤞it stays at 5!

UPDATE: Increased by 2 stars because seller sent me a new rod. I’m skeptical it will hold up to a big boy again, but I think it’ll do fine for good eaters. Old Review: Enjoyed rod surf fishing for a few days. It was surprisingly sensitive and I liked it. Then it snapped when reeling in a fish, resulting in loss of catch.

I've gone through a lot of surf fishing rods and I've got to say this one is one of my favorites. I opted for the 15-ft rod which is quite a bit for surf fishing but I can guarantee you that it will launch your bait way out there. If you're fishing in area that has people that go back and forth, it's not ideal, but with this rod nobody will walk into your line because your line will be way above them. This is a great price for a rod of this caliber. It is a bit heavy at first when you start but you can get used to it. Because of the length of the rod, the fish will fight extremely hard and you can get tired, but the rod itself can handle huge fish. I've caught multiple sand sharks off this rod with no issue. Casting wise, the flexibility of the rod allows you to really load up your swing and get it way out there. Because of the build of the rod, you can launch out really heavy sinkers and bait without having to worry. Overall, the look of the rod is sleek that allows you to really leverage the fish when you have a heavy fish. As long as you have the rod between your legs when you reel. Customer service has also been fantastic and will work with you every step of the way if there are any issues with the rod. Highly recommend

went fishing on the local beach yesterday and man this rod is a SLINGSHOTER FOR THE LINE, it threw that line about 70 yrds using a 4oz sinker (pyramid). caught the first fish a corbina about 4 # using a sand crab from the beach. the action is great and the rod works the first 4 feet and the rest of the rod is backbone, the way a fishing rod should act, and for a fishing rod that (heavy 20-40#). before i bought this rod i was thinking its to heavy for the weight ratio, i was looking more for a 15-30, but now that i used this rod , i dont want to 15-30 , this 20-40 is prefect ?

The rod snapped on my third cast on the first day of fishing with it. My friend also bought one that did not have any problems and casted really well. Disappointed I received one it a defect

Rec’d the rod last week and put it into action in the surf yesterday for the first time. I wasn’t expecting a revelation but I was impressed w/ the rods performance. I had two other rods, one of which was a compatible length (13’ 8”) to this one. Unfortunately I was not able to evaluate the action as the fish were not in agreement. The one feature of the rod that was notably better than the other rod was the casting distance I achieved with it I consistently exceeded casting farther, 10 to 15 yards, with this rod than the other rod. Can’t explain “why” as I was using the exact same line weight, Bruno rig and weight (4oz). I was very impressed with the additional distance I was able to achieve consistently with each cast. This rod is also extremely lighter and ver manageable to some of the fiberglass rods I’ve used in the past. The only detractor is that it’s four (4) sections vs 3. I can live with that. Waiting to see if the action is “as-advertised” when the fish cooperate. If so, I will purchase another rod. Overall, I’m pleased with the rod and my purchase. Great deal for the $$$.

Just returned from Mexico surf fishing for 2 weeks. This 9 ft. rod performed very well. It fit in my luggage and travelled well. I was casting a 3 oz. weight as hard as could it did not come apart or break. I'm very satisfied with this rod. great value for the money.

Finally got to try it out on Costa Rica vacation. Used twice and cracks appear in second pieces female receptor. Not a solid fit anymore. Very disappointed
