Finallllly...migrain headache and shoulder pain relief!
This is the best whole body and back massager evvvvvrrr! I have a graveyard of mediocre massage and accupressure tools...but nothing has ever come close to the effectiveness and ease of use as this. I wish I bought the Body Back Buddy sooner, I could have saved myself a lot of money and aches.... It effortlessly reaches all the places in my neck, shoulders, and back. I love the handles to really maximize being able to use this alone. Its amazing being in control of precise locations and amounts of pressure applied to knots or tense spots where I otherwise wouldn’t be able to reach. This can be used without twisting my body like a contortionist or getting a friend to help me. Its easy enough that my 65+yo parents can use it, and so can my 11yo daughter. I would have used this as a college swimmer/water polo player to alleviate a lot of pain and agony without paying 50 bucks a session. I would highly recommend this for anyone, but especially if you are someone who has gotten relief from expensive deep tissue or acupressure massages. I cant even tell you how many wall corners I have dug my shoulder into in an attempt to relieve the pain shooting into my head....or the elbows I have borrowed from friends to dig into my scapula🤣!! I am sooo happy to finally find this.... I literally apply as much or as little pressure in the perfect spot and I am able to breathe and feel the tension or knots almost melt away. I cannot say enough good stuff about this. Just buy it. Right now!

Odd but reasonably intuitive, effective. In the words of Cole Porter, "Experiment!"
Like many other reviewers', my BBB didn't come with a "12 page instruction booklet". It came with a small (2" square) 4-page advertisement for itself showing an athletic woman in Spandex holding it in various ways and smiling, with no text description of what she was doing. I put it aside for weeks, afraid of hurting myself trying to use it without knowing what I was doing. Eventually a severe back spasm led me back to it in desperation and I started gently "playing" with it. I was surprised to find that it's relatively intuitive, despite looking intimidating. If you've ever used a kitchen counter or table corner, square support post, or doorknob to rub your back against, the same instincts apply here -- you just have LOTS more options. Position some knob or another against a sore spot, apply gentle pressure, and wiggle. After a few seconds you'll naturally gravitate toward the motion and degree of pressure that feels good and helps. It's a little slow (I use it while watching TV or doing something else) but inexpensive compared to massage, and with practice you can get very good at controlling the amount, type, and direction of pressure -- something that can be difficult to communicate to another person. The length can make it cumbersome but also provides what I see as its greatest strength: you can get excellent leverage by positioning one hook-end knob against the target muscle, holding it one of the side protrusions with one hand while moving the free end back and forth with the other. By taking advantage of it as a lever with multiple potential fulcrums and choking up or down with the moving hand, arthritics and fibromyalgics like myself can manage self-massage with minimal strength applied and very little movement. With a few days' practice, I learned to get significantly more benefit from the BBB in proportion to strength and energy exerted than any other self-massage tool I've tried -- that is, whatever area I've targeted feels much better without causing my arms or hands to feel just as bad in trade-off. For more pressure, position yourself so that the weight of your limb or body is resting on the applied knobby-bit; unlike a tennis ball or knobbler, this gives you pressure from below with control from above -- that is, you don't have to have your hand contorted underneath yourself to move it back and forth while resting your weight on it, nor is there a need to move your whole body back and forth, both of which can be very tiring. The length also makes it versatile while sitting, if you have room to swing it around yourself. I've managed to rub my neck, back, arms, legs, and feet, all in the same position on the couch, over the course of an hour-long TV program. If I hold it properly, I get a bonus hand massage in the process. An excellent product, minus one star for lack of instruction. It's referred to in books I own which give more technical advice than this, but one shouldn't have to buy an additional $30 book to avoid letting an item sit in a closet for not knowing how to use it.

Simple but effective back massager
Someone had one of these at my work and we all fell in love with it! We are nurses working in Labor and Delivery which involves lots of turning, twisting, and lifting. This manual back massager is a lifesaver. I didn’t even know about all of the extra other ways that it can be used until I bought my own and received the demonstration poster as well! Fabulous product!

I bought one for my boss, my husband, my dad, my father-in-law, my brother.
This is the most universal gift you can give any man with back pain. I originally got it for my husband who struggles with neck pain, but I use it just as much myself. The angles are incredibly satisfying and give real relief, especially after long days working remotely. It releases tension fast and feels deep without needing much effort. It’s also extremely durable. You can apply serious pressure without destroying your thumbs trying to give a back massage. If you have a husband who works hard, this is a simple gift that genuinely improves daily life.

Superb product!
The design of this product is superb. It does exactly what it says it will do, and that’s a rarity these days. Its construction is first class and the two parts lock together firmly and completely. And the fact that it’s made in the USA makes purchasing it a no-brainer.

Less leverage but better for travelers
The product is a bit clunky and made of a hard plastic.. I purchased this style of massage bar previously and that bar was ergonomically better proportioned ( slightly thinner and longer), made of metal with wooden knobs at each end and therefore had better torque and leverage and had a better hand feel and was easier to grip. The wood knobs also felt better against the muscle. This bar however comes apart into two pieces making it easy to disassemble and travel. Perfect for traveling or putting in a suitcase or backpack. I travel a lot and will definitely now bring this. It works well for relieving upper back tension points.

Having had a bad back for numerous years now,I am at the end of my tether of trying to find products that will either help or cure. Not one has been successful....I've had Flexi bak, I've had a tennis ball plastic thing, I've had various heat belts that heat using magnets,I have a electric massager with heated balls no less,I have a posture corrector. I've always been put off this because of the £30 asking price and don't really see the point of cheaper imitations. Anyway,I got a gift card for Xmas rollso I took the plunge. Glad I did. Since I've used it ,I'm not saying I'm cured but my back feels so much better. Don't even know if I'm using it correctly.(I'm kinda sticking the balls in where I get pain, kneading the area for around 10 secs ,then releasing and apparently a surge of blood whooshes straight to the area, and aids the healing process. It sounds so simple and maybe it is because as I said previously,my back feels great. If you're unsure .....like I was.....take a punt. May be the best thing you do

I normally don't give reviews until I have had a chance to use the product for at least 6 months however, in this instance there is no reason to wait. The Back Buddy has been a godsend. I workout at least 4-5 times a week with weights and cardio classes. Aches and pains come with the territory. With this tool I can finally reach those hard to target places. I've also had carpal tunnel surgery on both hands and recently trigger finger release so I just don't have the finger strength to really work on my plantar fasciitis. With the back buddy I can target the heel of my feet without tiring my hands. Also great for targeting my glutes after a hard leg session. The Back Buddy comes with a chart but there is so much more you can do with it. I decided to go with the original back buddy for reliability in design and guarantee. Some of the knock offs had poor reviews for sharpness on edges. I didn't think it was worth the savings of £10. My back buddy does have a visible mould seam but it is smooth. Anyway it works better through thin clothing as you can glide it. I don't think it's as effective on bare skin. Give yourself some relief.
