Fit & finish appear good
Excellent appearance of hardwood, with only one natural defect on the top shelf. Good fit and finish. It did miss a couple washers, but no problem.Easily assembled with design better than things I’ve received from another Asian country.. Recommend.

Sturdy and solid wood
It’s so hard to get things in solid wood. It does have to be put together, but it’s not overwhelming. It’s very functional in my laundry room.

Easy to assemble and great quality
Easy to assemble and nice to use something besides mdf or particle board for furniture. The durability of the shelf's feel like it will last my entire lifetime.

Searched high and low for an unfinished bookshelf
Searched high and low for a bookshelf that was unfinished and this was perfect- perfect design, took paint well. Easy to assemble. It was one of the more affordable options. Used it for a nursery and it came out great!

Great bookcase
Nice quality item, will purchase another. Only minor issue was with assembly. The holes to accept the hardware to hold the shelves were too small. I just ran a drill bit around the inside of the holes and it was OK. But the book shelf looks great, I may not even get around to staining or painting.

Nice shelf, but assembly is difficult
The shelf is solid wood, which I love. It's fairly sturdy and looks great. The only issue is that when putting it together a couple of the shelves are short and don't exactly line up so screwing them in was difficult. The shelves still work, but there is a tiny gap between each shelf and the side of the bookcase. I would have considered returning, but I like the overall look of the shelf (and I needed the storage space), plus it's heavy and once you open that box I have no idea how you'd send it back.

Confusing instructions
I really like this shelving unit, it works well as an "all purpose" unit. I haven't stained it yet, but I intend to when I get it's larger sibling fully assembled. The wood quality is good, it should take a stain nicely (the desk and lingerie dresser from the same company look gorgeous), looking forward to it. In the meantime, it looks functional and nice enough. My only complaint about this piece is that the instructions demanded something physically impossible. They show that you fully assemble the frame first (top, bottom, and two sides), after which you install several small supports on both the top and bottom. Unfortunately, this doesn't work if you've screwed the frame into place, because the supports have small knobs that have to be pushed into the holes on the wood frame, being that they're equal length (not including the little knobs, those are extra), there's not enough space to do this. So, you have to sigh, unscrew one side (both top and bottom), install the supports, and then re-screw the side back on. It's annoying and adds a little time to construction. Also, there are no holes in the bottom of the shelves to screw them into place, so you'll need to drill them (carefully) yourself, or simply screw the screw into place through sheer force of will.

Not sturdy
After purchasing 5 different, very sturdy and lovely International Concepts desks, I assumed the shelving would be as high quality. I was mistaken. This shelf is very wobbly and weak. I wouldn't trust a child pulling something off of it. It also is disappointing to purchase at this price, to go through the difficulties of building it (harder than the desks) to find that it won't last very long. I would return it if I could.
