If for guitar
I was dubious about it's effectiveness in shielding a guitar, the alternative being foil, I can say without hesitation, it 100% works, if this can tame a Dimarzio SDS1 noise levels to zero then that's proof enough for me.I also completely shielded the pickguard with aluminium and added a ground wire to body and vol pot , apparently if this isn't done then the paint is ineffective. Tip, decant it to stir and use, you'll thank me later, I applied three coats as per instructions, I masked the edge of the cavity, if you do get it on the poly around the edge you will find out like I did, it doesn't dry so you will need to give it a wipe, three coats used half a tin .

If you're using for electrical shielding, such as on a guitar, it's perfect
I used this to shield the pickup and control cavities on a fender telecaster, and it completely eliminates 60 cycle hum on clean tones, and renders it nearly imperceptible with overdrive. Just be sure to shake well since it is a suspension of graphite in a liquid, so if you don't shake it, there won't be any graphite on top, so it won't work as well

Not as described
The listing states, that “the Shield has incremental shielding attenuation (up to -57 dB for one layer of coating) for the frequency range up to 20 GHz and higher, including the 5G frequency spectrum” If that was correct it would block 5g and WiFi. I painted 3 layers on the inside of a solid wooden box, allowed it to dry and placed an iPhone 12 inside with 5g, I recorded the screen on the device using screen recording and played the video back and there was no impact on the phones signal at all and that is with 3 layers of this paint. I placed the phone inside, closed the lid, closed the clasp on the box and even with the lid securely fastened it didn’t even dampen the signal and when I called the phone it rang just fine clearly showing that this paint doesn’t work as described and for the price it’s a terrible product. In their own video they showed 1 layer of paint on a cardboard box blocking the phone signals and there is no way that it’s blocking any signals. I’m going to have to spend more money to either line the box with copper sheeting or with genuine RF blocking fabric. It’s clear to me that this product doesn’t work as advertised in the video they provided.

Great for guitar shielding
Don’t get ripped off from guitar suppliers for a tiny bottle. Buy this tin for the same price and do all your guitars. Great for covering up additional routes on guitar bodies at the same time as sealing the wood and way less hassle than aluminium or copper tape. Way quicker. Do 2 coats. And you will have continuity when you test with a multimeter

Shielding paint, non oil based.
Easy to use, fairly easy clean up, wash the brush in water. This a low cost option compared with a certain U.S. made paint.

Easier to apply than copper foil in a guitar rout
This paint is easy to apply to the internal cavities of an electric guitar (and is very black, so don't drip it on the finish0 and does a decent job of reducing hum. Subjectively, it works as well as copper foil, and is much easier to apply.

Unbelievable 😡
It doesn't deserve 1 star. I used this to paint a stainless steel surface using a roller and applied a few coats and after drying completely it just rubs straight off leaving a black paint powder on the hands. Its not even waterproof as one wipe with a damp cloth and it comes straight off. Thats £12 down the drain and a complete waste of time. Ive used Rustines before on wood and my window ledges and it was great. This product is rubbish.

NOT FOR GUITARS
if, like me you’re looking at this to paint your guitar cavities for shielding then just don’t. DO NOT use this to Sheild your axe. It may do a fantastic job at stopping those stray signals interfering with your Satriani chops or Vai runs but this stuff when DRY gets everywhere. It’s never really drys just leaves a heavy powdery graphite coating which gets everywhere. It’s like you’ve used 200 HB pencils to shield your guitar cavities, it’s just a thick layer of pencil lead. Wish I’d never bothered with this stuff 👎👎🏻

I have never used any shielding products before. I was aware that some guitar manufacturers use shielding paint in the pickup and control cavities. I have seen YouTube videos of guitar demos that noted the presence or lack of shielding on particular models. I decided to buy a can to treat some of my guitars. I started with my Epiphone Les Paul Junior Billie Joe Armstrong. I applied three coats to the pickup cavity. I didn't have time to do the control cavity yet. Application was easy. I cleaned the brush with water after each coat. That was nice! Once I reassembled the guitar, I tried it out. I did notice a small reduction in noise. To be fair, the control cavity isn't treated yet, plus the floor lamp next to my amp has a CFL bulb in it. I will give it another try with proper diligence to the details. The shielding paint can holds plenty of product for many electric instruments. It is a good investment for your collection of guitars.

A little bit seems to go a long way. A tiny spot on your fingernail seems to be capable of covering most of your finger. Use disposable gloves. Went on easy enough with 2 coats. Left to dry for 24 hrs and then a quick spray with clear gloss. Will see how effective its shielding properties are once re wiring is completed.

It works and is fairly easy to apply, but it never really dries and gets EVERYWHERE and it is hard to clean up if it goes on wood If you use for shielding guitar cavities like I did, IT WILL RUIN YOUR WORK, don’t use it

I use this instead of the Stew Mac brand to shield the cavities of electronic guitars. Pickups cavities and the electronics cavities on the guitars that I build. This stuff is great. It dries in 30 minutes and you can apply another coat. The Stew Mac shielding paint requires 24 hours of dry time before you can apply another coat. So it works great for one, and you can have the shielding finished in an hour and a half instead of 3 days. I’m not sure about the complaints of it being messy. I’ve never had a problem, and it’s not rocket science to put it on. Just use an arts and crafts paint brush. It’s water soluble so it will wipe right off of your finish with a rag and water. It’s really that easy.
