Rubie's Costume Co Embroidered Straw Sombrero Costume

I’m a Spanish teacher, using the pedagogy of TPRS (teaching proficiency through reading and storytelling). My students act out skits while learning new vocabulary. This was PERFECTO for our skit “Roger el Romántico”! It will work for so many new lessons going forward, as well. I plan to use it year after year!

I'm very please with this product. Came is a big enough box that the Sombrero was not compromised in anyway. The hat itself is big enough to be recognized as a sombrero but not ridiculously big to the point of novelty. The hat fit well too. Its a little loose but I like that cause I'm going for the "drunken" look. I consider my head to be on the large size so if you are looking for a tight fit, you better have one big'ole doom piece. It has draw strings too, so you could tighten it up a tad with those. All in all, solid purchase.

I bought this to wear on vacation in Eureka Springs. I had bought practically the same hat in Taos for my son, and knew when I needed one, I'd buy a sombrero. You can never tell online if a hat is going to fit. This hat fit just fine. I had troubles taking the price tag off, and it left a white glue mark on the brim, but I just wear that part in the back.

I bought this to wear to Mexico soccer games in the stadium as well as as viewing parties. I always get compliments on how cool it is and everyone wants to wear it and take pictures with it. I think that talks a lot about how good the product looks. For whatever occasion you plan to use the sombrero for this product will work great. It is also affordable and durable as I have worn it multiple times and even taken it on a suitcase. It fits as you'd expect it to fit and it is pretty comfortable to wear for prolonged periods of time.

Great for what I needed it for! A few pieces came unwound but not noticeable. Fit as expected & cute costume addition!

Great sombrero. It's sized for a typical adult male head - maybe a little on the small side.

Needs a spring loaded cinch lock on the string so it can be secured to the head. Otherwise is just blows off all day & cant be used. Would be nice if we could specify if it's for a boy or girl so I dont get a pink lined one for my husband. But other than that, it's the best deal out of all of them! It serves in its required duty of protecting from the evil sun (when a cinch lock thingie is added to head string, t2bats the only way to keep it on).

Great quality and actually made in Mexico. I was a costume store and they some super low quality looking sombrero that looked obviously cheap to make. It was actually priced quite a bit higher than this item.

The sombrero is perfect! It arrived before it was scheduled to. The only thing wrong with it was the box was too small for the hat and it got a bit squashed in transit.
