Perfect for what it is.
It's a coal rake. It's designed for pushing, pulling, spreading, and gathering hot coals. It's about 21 inches long, which is a near-perfect length for using on just about any grill unless you're using some custom built enormous thing. The head's large enough to be effective but small enough to be quite mobile. It's one piece of stainless steel, with the handle portion being of a hollow design that helps mitigate the heat build up. If you find heat build up a problem you could easily put a wrap around the handle (even if it's just a bunch of duct tape); although if you find it a problem... you probably left it sitting in hot coals after use for some reason. The price, given that this will almost certainly be a one-time purchase, is extremely reasonable, and the product is very sturdy. I absolutely recommend this product if you own a charcoal grill. It could also be very useful if you own a small fire pit or wood burning stove and need to push the coals around. It also serves as a very good back scratcher... Don't judge me ;)

Great Tool
I purchased this for use on a medium sized Kamado grill. The length is perfect to help clean out the old charcoal and arrange the new. I've used it for about 5 grills and it still appears new. Think this will last muck longer than the standard steel version I've used in the past. The only downside is the size. I have a Kamado Joe grill which has a slide out ash cleanout tray. It's not necessarily needed but the hoe end is a little too large to fit well. I can slant it to scrap out most of the ashes that overflow the tray so it's not a big deal. Just something to be aware of.

Great tool
Great tool for bbqing, easy to use to rake coals or move wood in the firebox. Handle is long enough to avoid the heat and made very sturdy.

Perfect tool for the job
Way back in the day when I was a kid my Dad had an old railroad tool he used to poke our fires and grills. It was made for that purpose but wasn't too big or heavy and I've always looked for one (don't know what became of his). Along comes this great little tool quite similar in design to the one my Dad had and hey, it's from Weber! Just used it for the first time and will be using it for a long time, hopefully my grandson will covet mine someday! Other reviews noted that the inner edge of the rolled steel handle is sharp and can be a hazard, I agree but I used it with gloves when the coals were hot and then cold. Problem solved.

Almost perfect...
Very solid product and it should do the job exactly as expected. My only complaint is the open seam on the bottom of the handle. It's very sharp and could easily cut you if you aren't careful. Definitely wear a glove when using this. Personally, I'm going to hit the edges with my Dremel and smooth it up so it's safer to use. My rating is actually 4.5 stars because this is a very minor gripe about an otherwise great product.

Solid and indispensable grill tool
Grilling season is really long in Texas. We grill 1-3 times a week and I have my routine down... After dumping the hot coals out of the charcoal chimney, I previously used regular grill tongs to move them around as desired. Even with a mitt on, it would get too hot for me sometimes and I'd have take another pass or two to get the coals situated. With the rake, it's so easy to move the coals around how I want them. I never have to take more than one pass at getting the coals arranged how I need them. I imagine it's like ice skating after the zamboni refreshes the ice, to use a metaphor that makes no sense in Texas. Let me try this again. You know how some situations require a specific tool that only has one function and using that tool is the only way the task will be easy? This charcoal rake is one of those tools! I had no idea I needed one until I bought it. I would hate to grill without one. You might be thinking I don't need to spend $15 on this. I get that, but this rake is solid steel, sturdy and going to last. I don't see how I won't be using it 30 years from now.

Good Charcoal Rake...
Had been using an old ash shovel as a charcoal rake in my 18.5 Weber for quite some time. Somehow lost it, and decided to order this one. As you would expect, when this one arrived, I found my ash shovel, but tried this one anyway. Construction is simple, but seems durable. Gives me a little more control with the charcoal as it is narrower and has a different handle angle than the shovel did. The only issue I have... that most may not... is that it can be a little awkward with the Craycort cast iron grate that I have on my Weber. Unlike the standard Weber grate, that you have to remove, or the hinged grate which opens an entire side to allow you to add and adjust your coals. My cast iron grate has three separate grates that are removable. Due to the angle of the handle on this rake, sometimes I have to adjust my food, so I can remove two grates (one at a time) to get the coals the way I want them. For me it's no big deal as I've had to do this with the old ash shovel. For someone else it may be a little aggravating. If you have a standard Weber grate, or the hinged grate, I think this will work perfectly for you, if you rake your coals to keep them evenly lit. So far it's working well for me.

Not quite using it as intended but I’ve been utilising this as a scraper for my pizza oven. It’s been fantastic for pulling loose toppings out when the pizza oven is lit, as well as scraping the pizza stone to remove any burnt flour or semolina. Easy to clean after use too.
