Decent reader at a great price with responsive support
I am very pleased with this reader. I own a car wash and issue keyfobs to my fleet customers and as gift cards, and this enables me to read the ID and set everything up for the fobs remotely - so I can mail them out without having to go to my business. This is just a keyboard wedge, so it is in plug and play for most. My particular fobs were not reading correctly - I reached out to support and received the download link to the configuration tool for the reader. With a little bit of trial and error, I was able to find the configuration which reads my fobs appropriately. Support was quick and got me what I needed. I could not be happier.

Works great!
It includes two cards in the box. It reads the first 10 digits of a card when you scan it and automatically presses enter. I just plugged it in and it worked without any setup! The scanning range seems to be pretty good. My only complaints are that the buzzer is a little too loud and can’t be disabled without opening the device. Also, the scanning part has a bunch of text and markings that are permanently imprinted on it which looks kind of tacky. Overall, this is a great product and works just as well as other like it, but for much cheaper!

Different configurations of the same product
Works when it works, but I seem to be getting two different versions of the same product configured with different byte endianness. Others have said that they've had luck contacting support to get software to reconfigure the scanners, but I haven't heard anything back from Yarongtech via email, eBay, Skype or Amazon.

Works with Linux including Raspberry Pi - 14H is actually 8H
This worked out of the box. I'm using it both with a laptop running Ubuntu and a Raspberry Pi. No drivers were needed. It presents itself as a HID (human interface device) and acts like a keyboard, sending the ID code read from the card or fob as keystrokes. My only (minor) complaint is that they offer a 14H format, which should give you something like 00000013579acf even if only some digits of the ID are read. The unit I received does have a configuration box on the bottom (in Chinese characters) which is not 8H and is checked. It does not, however, return in 14H format but in 8H format. To use the above example: 13579acf For the money, it's probably just the thing but the 14H option is a waste of $1.

Works to read UID of Mifare cards
Works to read UID of Mifare cards. The output format is adjustable, I had to contact the seller to get the programming software. It is easy to use and change bit length, base, and byte endianness

No drama!
You plug it in and it JUST WORKS! It just acts like a keyboard and types the tags it scans onto the screen and hits enter. I even bought a device with a different output encoding I was looking for (the description was confusing). Their support team was fast and sent me a program to reset my device to a different encoding. I'd definitely recommend this.
