I have had this globe on my desk for almost 3 years now and it's still just spinning and spinning! They may seem a little pricey but in my case it is well worth the cost. It's easy to read and the colors are vibrant. Given it's non-stop use for 3 years i think it's fair to say that it is of exceptional quality. I have purchased another one for my dining table at home. People stop by my desk at work all the time asking "how the heck does that thing work!?"

These are the coolest globes I've ever seem. It's really cool looking and works off the light above the curio cabinet that these are located in. No batteries required at all. We have a blue one as well that's larger that we payed way too much for from a specialty shop in Austin, Texas. It's really cool as well. I like the size of the blue one, but prefer the antique color of this model. It's also interesting to see the other planets that are available. In our office, we have a collection of globes we have purchased from around the world. There are about fifteen different ones in the cabinet that is halogen lit with two light on tracks in the corner of the front of the cabinet hidden out of sight. It has four shelves and ten very small halogen bulbs that light the cabinet up very nicely. The most expensive globe we have is worth about $2,500 because of precious stones inlayed into it all over each continent. It's very nice. People are drawn to this globe and the larger one that is blue first. They are fascinated to learn how these appear to be "magically" floating of as if their should be a cord coming from the base somewhere.

I love this globe. It gracefully turns all day and at night when a light is on, and stops turning in the dark, which I guess saves the battery or whatever it is that makes it turn. It is a real conversation piece, and the color looks lovely in our home with traditional furnishings. It was a bit expensive, but worth the price for this truly unique treasure.

You will NOT be disappointed with this product. Seeing it slowly rotate with nothing externally connecting to it will leave viewers scratching their heads. Not only is the power source a question, but also how something could rotate without any apparent grounding point from which to turn. This item is not cheap, but worth EVERY penny. A keepsake that you will enjoy for years, I'm sure. I got the classic look (tan) earth globe, and it looks great on our mantle. Enjoy!

If you want something really unusual and very different in your living room this Mova brand globe is beautifully made and it makes the globe look gorgeous. All this globe needs is light to power the globe and make this globe turn. As Long as there is a light source this globe will turn almost invisibly. Great conversation piece I might add. Pricey YES but then nicer things usually DO cost a little more. If you want nicer things you have to be willing to pay for them.

This is a great product. If you locate is near where ambient daylight comes in the globe slowly turns. It's fascinating, although it's only a globe. Before dusk when the light becomes darker the globe stops turning and is at rest until daybreak when it again begins to rotate. A great gift item or for your own desk at home.

When I saw one of these in a store display, the first thing I did was look at the bottom for the wires, switches and batteries. Then I touched it to see if there was a clear cover over the globe or not. Exactly what almost everyone does when they see it sitting on the desk in my office. Some are absolutely mesmerized by it. Best conversation piece I think I've ever had. One weird problem was when a salesperson was in the office and it stopped turning and went into reverse, stopped and went normally, then stopped, went into reverse and kept oscillating back and forth. I think this person would be the type that could magnetize mechanical watches. It took a good spin of the clear covering sphere and about a week for it to go in the correct direction when the lights came on again. I'd love to find one that someone dropped and broke so I could see the workings. I can't figure out what the liquid inside the globe is for except to keep it turning slowly, but that doesn't make too much sense. I know the principle behind how it works, but not the particulars of how it's constructed. If anyone has a broken one, I'll take it!

Arrive via DHL à la date prévue, dans un emballage où le globe ne risque rien, j'ouvre la boîte, et... c'est miraculeux, ça tourne tout seul, c'est beau, aucun fils, aucune pile, rien, il fait clair, ça tourne. 2 problèmes, ça tourne toujours, pour trouver un pays, il faut être rapide, et, le prix, c'est cher, mais je ne le regrette pas, c'est trop génial comme système. C'est mon 2ᵉ globe, le premier, après 6 ans de bons services, je l'ai laissé tomber, et il ne tournait plus, mais c'était ma faute. J'ADORE

Ever wanted to know just where a particular country is in the world. well you need a globe to find out. This is a great Globe. It moves by sunlight, its educational and a talking point. I am really happy with it.
