Instantly Obsessed
First let me say that it's impossible to take a pic of your own foot and have it look flattering. That being said, they look much better in person. I first bought my husband a pair of the man version for our cruise next week to Mexico (our excursions involve rocky trails and beaches etc) and I got jealous of how much he loved his (he isn't the excited about shoes kind of guy usually) and it made me want a pair too. So after tons of reviews and researching the girl versions, I decided on these, and im glad I did. The big question was size for me. Some said runs big, others run small, so I chose my usual size, which is 10 in everything except sneakers, where I'm 10.5. It was a tuff decision since these are kind of both sandal and sneaker, and when I first put them on I thought they were too small. All I have to say is really work the bungee laces and adjust and walk, then adjust, and bingo....perfect fit. I was worried about my bunions, but these don't hurt, and im sure as soon as I get them wet and walk around they will totally mold to my feet completely. I think if I would have went bigger, they wouldn't hold my foot secure like these do. So my advice, go with your sandal size, adjust the bungee laces, and go spray them with a hose and walk around, which is what I'm going to do right now. Hope this helped, and if you're on the fence, go for it. They are worth it.

If you are ready to upgrade your water shoe these are wonderful
I spend quite a bit of time with my feet in the water, ( creeks and lakes). I’ve purchased multiple pairs of cheaper water shoes that last 1 or 2 summers. I finally decided to upgrade to Keensand I’m so glad I did. They are comfortable, sturdy, lightweight and no signs of wear, tear or loss of support

If you need a soft step
I just got and put on my Astoria West closed toe sandal from Keen color desert sage/multi. They look great! Cute! Not clunky at all. What impressed me the most is the cushion these shoes provide. Take it from me, someone who has been living in only Oofos for the past 2 years because of needing the squishy cloud like feel to relieve foot pain. I can't believe how comfortable the souls of these shoes are. It's really hard to find a squishy soft soled shoe with significant thickness. The top and sides of this shoe are comfortable also. No toes are sticking out. Due to several reviews I decided to buy these in a size 8. I normally wear a 7 or 7 1/2 in shoes but, I do wear a size 8 in sneakers. This size 8 Astoria fits nicely so I recommend using your sneaker size. Because of their cloud like squishiness they conform to your feet and arch. I do feel that if you have a very high arch and/or a chunky foot these would probably be tight on you. My feet are thin and my arch is low. My review may be premature being that I haven't worn them outside yet but, what's making me feel so good about them is the cushion in the heel and the ball of my foot. I have so much foot pain that if I didn't feel this cushion I would actually be afraid to go outside in these because of knowing I'd end up in pain but, I'm not afraid at all to go outside in these and I'm looking forward to it! I have an old pair of keen closed toe sports sandal (size 7 1/2) that I've been really needing to replace but I haven't found any that were comfortable. I am so glad I went ahead and ordered these online! So far so wonderful!! I don't want to take them off.

Good hiking sandals
These sandals are good for hiking especially if you are worried about accidentally kicking something. I would recommend against wearing them in the water and then hiking in them after, it caused my feet to be very sore and they take a bit to dry. They fit true to size and are high quality. There is a fair amount of arch support in the sole which is especially helpful for longer hikes.

Heads-up: My usual size fits perfectly in these
Keen Astoria West Sandal Love them so far! Super comfortable, very lightweight, and cute. Got the scarlet ibis or whatever it is, a nice red. They may not be the best choice for rough trails, but for all my city walking, casual wear, easy hiking, beach walks, I think they'll be perfect. And they're cute enough to wear with a skirt or casual dress. We'll have to see how the white soles look over time. About Sizing: I wear an 8.5 M in all my other Keens but had heard these were smaller, so I first ordered a size 9. They were way too big for me. Replaced with my usual size, perfect. BUT I recently tried on some Keen Uneek and Uneek Astoria sandals at the Keen store, and in those I definitely needed to size up. For the Uneek Astoria, I needed a size 9. For th regular Uneek sandal, I was undecided between the 9 and the 9.5. I my experience the Uneek Astoria and these Astoria West sandals are sized differently and you can probably wear your usual size in these. Hope this helps. Great shoes!

Review update: Just a quick update to my previous review as many people have found it helpful. I usually wear my Keen Astoria West shoes when traveling a few times a year so they are still going strong. In April 2024, I put them to the test once again! I hiked up a gravel path to a volcano in the Mediterranean. The path was fairly steep. The Keens were great! Had to empty my shoes a couple of times as dust and grit got in (inevitably - there are holes in the sides of the shoes), but this only took a few seconds as the shoes slip on/off so quickly. I also jumped off a boat into the very cold Aegean sea, wearing these shoes. I tightened them up, as when cold, hands and feet shrink a little. I was swimming in the ocean about 10 metres in depths towards the shore - the shoes stayed on my feet and protected me from rocks as I neared the beach. I was then swimming into thermal volcanic waters, with high sulphur content which turns the water brown along with any white fabrics, I'm happy to report the Keens were not impacted by this - they stayed their original colour. After getting out of the sea I walked around a port (which was flat concrete) and my shoes dried out nicely and maintained their grip. I certainly put these shoes through a bunch of challenges, and I'm delighted to see how well the Keens handled it! Two years later, I still highly recommend. 2022 review: I purchased these shoes for a trip to Asia where I would be doing lots of walking and and ideally needed something more substantial, supportive and 'trainer-like' than my hiking sandals. I also needed something that would also be very breathable in a hot and humid climate. These Keen Astoria West shoes, with their opened sided design, were perfect! Having researched the brand, I found out Keen has a good reputation for adventure shoes, sandals, hiking boots. I choose the Astorias as they are lightweight, and have a nice feminine design with a slight heel elevation, and are waterproof. Also they come in a great range of colours and look pretty stylish for this type of shoe. After my trip, I can confirm these Astorias are great! I wore them all day on flat and hilly gravel trails, through forests and on the beach. The hybrid design is like hiking sandals and trainers had a baby! The moment I put them on they were comfortable. The stretchy and soft scuba-like fabric on the inside of the shoe ensures there is nothing to rub. I saw another reviewer said they kind of feel like wearing a combination of a shoe and sock - which I'd say is a good, accurate description! The fit is easily adjustable with the innovative elastic lacing structure - which makes them super fast to slip on and off. This is also great if your feet tend to swell up or shrink down in changing temperatures as you can quickly adjust fit on the move. The overall fit is true to size, however if you are between sizes or not sure, I'd say go up half a size to be safe. The shoes are very lightweight, reducing aching legs and ensuring they don't add to much to luggage weight limits when flying. I confirm they are waterproof having worn them in the sea and through streams. They dried well and I also understand they can go in the washing machine (haven't tried this yet, but I'm confident they will be fine). Finally, the rubber sole and toe cap is great for grip and protecting the toes - which is so needed on rugged trails! However, one point I should add is that if you are looking to do some proper, steep, technical hiking you will still need to invest in some proper hiking boots with ankle support - these Astorias are not a substitute for that (however they will make a useful edition to your adventure shoe collection)! I'd say they are great for long days on your feet, walking in the summer or in hot climates on moderate terrain. I hope you find this review helpful, I certainly love these shoes and will be looking to purchase more Keen footwear in the future.

Los he usado para día de super, caminar mucho en días calurosos y aunque suda el pie no se resbala; son cómodos, aún un poco duros. Falta probar en sendero y ríos... Ya les contaré Por lo pronto 8 de 10
