Plug and go ease of use.
Plugged it in and charged my car. It ran at full 13 amp and also shows the temp. Got to 42C and stayed there for the six hours to fop up the battery. No problems at all. We live in a new build so the wiring is good. Was nervous reading about fires etc but everything worked fine. The charger looks very well made, and didn’t need any setting up etc. It’s plug and go. Simple.

Great EV home charger
Feedback after long term use. Great piece of kit. 4 years later and still no problems

A really good backup option.
I have a KIA Niro hybrid and the charger works great, I’ve only used it a couple of times but within three hours the battery is full. This is a really good backup option if you can’t get a proper charging point. It’s design is very use a friendly and very easy to use because of its small compact size however, there was still 8 m of cable length.

BEWARE - very close call.
BEWARE - Using this 10amp charger for about 3.5 hours on my PHEV every night since August '23 purchase and it has remained plugged in to a dedicated socket. Until yesterday, no cause for complaint. However, yesterday, I had to charge during the day and fortunately noticed a foul smell of melting plastic. As you can see, the fuse holder on the moulded plug has started to overheat & has caused the socket to burn and crack. The marks on the socket are the <quote> "classic signs of a loose fuse; the fuse holder itself has melted, and there is a brown mark and/or cracks appearing on the socket due to the heat. The clue that the socket has been damaged by an over-heating plug fuse holder, is in the position of the brown mark, which mirrors the position of the fuse in the plug. Whilst this damage is often mistaken as being caused by the socket, there is no plausible route through which a socket could create this pattern of damage" <endquote>. As I cannot afford the time to dispute with the suppliers, I have fitted a heavy duty MK plug & replaced the socket. I have been advised the following, and will check my plug every month (or less if it feels warm): <quote> "How do I check the fuse contacts? Checking that the plug fuse contacts tightly hold the fuse can help prevent issues from occurring. We recommend this occurs on an annual basis, or if you are at all concerned about the plug becoming warm." <endquote> Chinese workmanship ?? Unfortunate incident ? Your choice.

Good build quality but very slow charger
Max I could get on this charger is 2kw, and it takes about 10-12 hours to get 100Kms (Skoda Enyaq). 10M cable is really essential and overall build quality seems good. Pros: Build quality, charger cable Cons: Slow charge speed

Premium price, but a premium product!
I don't normally write reviews, but this 3-pin to type 2 charging cable deserves a writeup. Yes, it is not the cheapest, and yes there are units that look similar. I originally ordered another make of charging cable, and it lasted all of 2 partial charges and would only support 10A charging, so I do have some perspective for comparison. The unit comes in a fairly tough bag albeit with a cheaper zip, but that works fine. The cable itself is of good quality, and flexes well considering it's gauge. The type2 plug is well manufactured, and fits perfectly. Setting the mode is easy before a charge, simply press the button to cycle through 6, 8, 10 or 13A settings. 13A was showing a true 3kw throughput on my 3kw L1 phase of my Zero SR/F motorcycle, something that I could only achieve 2.3kw on before with other units and the 10A cap. The fact that I can set a charge to 6A slow charge means I now have the capability of charging at a slower rate to condition my battery pack which is a bonus. It also means I can charge on limited throughput mains circuits or extension cables with a safe margin of current overhead. I should have bought this unit in the first place and not wasted my money on another unit. Top marks for a bit of kit that does what it is meant to, and does it well!

Brilliant piece of kit
Excellent quality. The ability to pre-set the start time so that charging can start at midnight so as to catch the cheapest rate is a lifesaver.
