Effortless Lawn Care Perfection!
The Ortho Dial N Spray Hose-End Sprayer has become my go-to tool for keeping my lawn and garden in top shape, and I’m beyond impressed with how easy and effective it is! Whether I’m tackling weeds, pests, or fertilizing my plants, this sprayer takes all the guesswork out of the process. It’s a total time-saver and delivers flawless results every time—hands down, a five-star product! Pros: • No Mixing, No Mess: Just pour your liquid concentrate into the jar, set the dial, and spray. It’s so simple—I’ve never had a spill or wasted product, which is a huge win compared to manual mixing. • Versatile Spray Patterns: The three options—broadcast, jet, and shower—are perfect for any job. I use broadcast for my lawn, jet for high tree branches (it reaches up to 25 feet!), and shower for my delicate flowers. Each one works like a charm. • Precise Dilution Settings: With 14 settings from 1 teaspoon to 8 ounces per gallon, I can dial in the exact strength I need. It’s automatic and consistent, so I know my plants are getting the right treatment every time. • Comfortable Design: The extended-grip handle keeps my hands dry, and the ergonomic trigger feels great even after long sessions. Plus, the rotating hose connector makes it super easy to maneuver. • Anti-Backflow Bonus: I love that it prevents chemicals from flowing back into my hose—peace of mind for safety and water purity. Cons: • Slight Leak Potential: If you don’t secure the hose connection tightly (or add an extra washer), it might drip a little at first. It’s an easy fix, but worth mentioning. • Pickup Tube Could Be Better: The rigid tube sometimes struggles to suck up the last bit of concentrate unless I hold it perfectly level. A flexible, weighted tube would be an upgrade. • Loud Jet Setting: The jet spray is powerful but noisy—fine for me, but it might startle pets or neighbors if you’re not careful. This sprayer has made lawn care feel like less of a chore and more of a breeze. It’s durable, user-friendly, and delivers professional-level precision without the hassle. Whether you’re a gardening newbie or a seasoned pro, the Ortho Dial N Spray is a fantastic investment—five stars all the way!

Ortho dial sprayer
I like this sprayer because you can select a shower or a jet or other settings but I think the weak link is the little tube inside that sucks up the pesticide. After using it for a while, it easily falls off. I thought about gluing it but occasionally you need to take it off and clean it so I’m not sure what else to do. It worked well for the first few times, but I’m concerned about the longevity.

Needed a new one
Needed a new one bc the previous one suddenly started leaking everywhere like all the other reviews say happened. It's cheap. It probably is not made to hold up long. We only had the other one for a season and then start of this season...leaking. I won't hold out hope that this won't be the fate of this one but for now it's working as intended.

Works like a charm!
This sprayer really exceeded my expectations. I bought it because my tap water is very alkaline at pH 8.0, but I've wanted a pH of ideally 6.0-6.7 or so for my outdoor container garden plants. The hose end sprayer delivers the pH Down I added with a consistent pH. I can recover the product to change the solution in the sprayer, which is a very nice feature. The different spray settings click into place nicely. The flow rate is very strong, much stronger and faster than my Miracle-Gro sprayer. I noticed a prominent review for this product suggested defeating the built-in filter mechanism to increase the pressure, saying that filter or governor "doesn't need to be there." False! That's a backflow prevention mechanism, from what I can see! So that should be left in place. From the pressure of my standard household water tap, this sprayer was very powerful and needed no adjustment at all. It filled a quart size container in seconds. All I had to do for this sprayer to work perfectly was connect it... I love it. No issues yet. Here's what I did with my Ortho Dial N Spray to adjust the pH of my container plants: I bought pH Down (Bloom City Professional pH Down Liquid Fertilizer) and followed the instructions on the bottle, adding 1 oz of the pH Down stock to the hose end sprayer container and filling it to the 32 oz line. I then set the dial on the Ortho Dial N Spray to 1 oz and tested the pH using pH paper (Micro Essential Lab 2210 Plastic Hydrion Vivid Short Range pH Test Paper Dispenser, 4.5 - 8.5 pH, Single Roll) and an electronic probe (YINMIK Digital pH Tester for Soil), which gave similar results within 0.2-0.3, indicating a pH of 6.7 +- 0.3. So, it had already brought the pH down into my target range! To acidify the water further, I simply moved the hose end sprayer dial from 1.0 oz setting to 1.5 oz, measured the pH of a quart of the emitted water, and sure enough it had moved further down to 6.4, and there I've kept the dial. I dumped the quart of water, filled another quart, tested the pH, and it has held steady. This leaves no doubts to me that the Ortho Dial N Spray will meter out other concentrates in a steady manner as well. However, I only use pH Down for container plants and do so lightly, because it supposedly contains phosphate, which can pollute waterways. Please use whatever you put in your sprayers in a responsible and environmentally friendly manner!

Works well
Works much better than the cheap knock off I bought last time that leaked everywhere. Easily adjustable with 3 spray patterns. I wiped out the massive colonies of fire ants that moved in seemingly overnight and took over my yard.

Works, But a Bit Tricky to Use
The Ortho Dial N Spray Hose-End Sprayer does what it’s supposed to, it mixes and sprays liquid weed killers, insecticides, and fertilizers directly from the bottle. The 14 dilution settings are helpful for different products, and it attaches easily to a standard garden hose. That said, it can be a bit tricky to dial in the right setting, especially the first few times. The instructions aren’t super clear, and it sometimes takes a few tries to get the mixture exactly right. Also, it feels a little flimsy compared to other sprayers I’ve used. Overall, it works fine if you’re patient and follow the instructions carefully. It’s convenient for quick yard work, but I wish it felt sturdier and easier to adjust.

Works as promised and no regrets in purchasing. Still working after repeated usage.
Worked beautifully for applying liquid Image Weed Killer to my lawn. I have used other brand hand sprayers, but doing the conversion of teaspoons to square feet to whatever made me always question the amount of product I dispersed. The bottle of Image had a measurement specifically for the Ortho hand sprayer which persuaded me to purchase this one over other brands. This sprayer was easy to use, had a tight connection to my hose and didn't clog. I have only used it once so I can't tell you if it will last more than a season or two. Hopefully, it lasts long enough to do a second application in 6 weeks. UPDATE: I have used this several times since receiving it several months ago and it continues to work seamlessly with no leaking. I will admit that after using it in hot and humid conditions I “forgot” to clean out the last of the solution and when I pulled it out today…yep, oops. I washed it out with soap and water, attached it to a hose and sprayed clean water through it before adding a new batch of neem oil to treat for aphids. I was prepared for it to fail based on my operator failure but it worked like new. Don’t hesitate to buy this handheld sprayer. It’s terrific!
