Schär Cookies, Chocolate Dipped, 5.3 Ounce

These light, crisp, and chocolatey cookies are both pretty and delicious. I first discovered these in my local supermarket but I think they were left over from a special Christmas order because they have never had them again. I was thrilled to find them available on Amazon. They sometimes get broken in shipping, but usually most of them arrive whole. I love them so much--one of the few gluten free treats that are worth keeping on hand.

Poorly packed, broken, and terrible to boot. These came with another box of Schär cookies. They were in a plastic bag with no padding at all. The box was dented and the cookies inside on the top layer were all broken. I could not eat them but my husband tried one and said they were disgusting. He’s pretty chill so for him to say that means something. I would have given one star for taste alone, but even if they were awesome I would have deducted three stars for the bad packaging.

Since finding that I have a gluten issue, life has been stinky! To clarify, you have to learn how to eat all over again. I am not a young person, so perhaps I am less likely to conform and less willing to learn!! Anyhow, when gluten makes you really sick, in a ton of pain, you learn! I found this particular brand has lots of products. The one that caught my eye first is the shortbread cookies. I have always been a big fan of shortbread cookies! I do not eat them a lot, but, when I want a cookie, that is generally what I would reach for. When I found them, I was so happy, but a bit hesitant, as gluten free can mean yuck. Well this company did not disappoint! I received the cookies and LOVE them. the texture is terrific and the taste,, awesome! When I saw these cookies, I had no hesitation in ordering. They are really, really good! The chocolate is dark and just enough to add a wonderful flavor to the cookie. I have ordered other products from this company, as well. I have been really pleased. I would recommend to any gluten free person, give this brand a try.

Nothing more to say then taste is okay, not something you easily go back for more, so they will last for a bit. You don't get much for your money either. As for shipping it got it in a timely manner but not shipped in a way the cookies wouldn't break, only a few are broken, at least not in crumbs so still eatable and not the end of the world. But I couldn't use them for company. At closer look it was only 4 so not to bad. Some bubble wrap would maybe help them as they get tossed around and thrown around in shipping and heavy things can land on them in the process. I will change my review from 3-4 stars. All though the taste is not my forta, chocolate taste like coffee I know most will not mind. I'm not a fan of coffee so, ya. Taste is a personal preference. Hope this helps you.

I liked everything about this cookie: the fresh taste, the chocolate, the design. Perfect platter of cookies for a celebration. Very cute decoration. And they are wheat free. Just cannot figure out why they are not more readily available on the grocer shelves.
