Project Farm (from Youtube fame) was right - Malco Eagle Grips are the best locking pliers made! You pay for them, but oh my are they good!

I needed a deep C-clamp but I wasn't too thrilled with plastic or resin-reinforced materials. I stumbled upon this type of tool, and recalled that I already had a 7" curved jaw Malco. I was hoping this C-clamp locking pliers would be good too. Well, this exceeded my expectations. I thought the factories closed? Anyways I won't question this. I hope the workers in Nebraska are well compensated, as they did a fantastic job with these tools.
