Such a great idea!! I had not heard of a fire blanket and always kept a small fire extinguisher in my kitchen. A fire blanket is so much better, easier and the fact that you can reuse makes economical sense. I bought ten blankets and gave them away to friends and family - a gift that actually matters!!

Part of our fire safety kit, appropriate for stovetop and barbecue fires. These seem well made and easy to pull from package. I hung one inside the pantry door, and hung the second one in the main hall closet. I have standard fire extinguishers too, since a fire blanket can’t handle every scenario.

High quality and easy to use. This is impotant to stop a fire immediately!

A must for each household!!! Never want to have to use it but in an emergency, you may save your home! Realtors, rental owners and home owners should have these! Too many fires! Stops them! Safety item for car, home, campfire areas!

Fair product and price. Made great Christmas gift. Reusable is a good feature. I put ours under the sink, away from stove just in case.

Disclaimer: He did not die because of a fire, he ate a whip cream can and sadly passed away. Gramps wanted for you to know about his cousin's friend, despite it not being directly related to the blanket. "This is an exceptional product. I had the chance to test it firsthand. Back in the good ol' days, when I was 86 years young, I had an unfortunate accident involving a duck, a gas station, and a mound of cheese. Now let's talk a little about this duck. It wasn't an actual duck, it was a flame thrower I named Duck. Now, Duck was my best friend. I took him everywhere, airplanes, sporting events, border crossings, nuclear power plants, and prisons. If it could burn, Duck and I were there. One day, Duck was really not in a good mood. I was pumping gas at a gas pump in Idaho when Duck decided that he had enough and he jumped out of my pocket. I had forgotten to put his safety on that day so you can probably guess what happened next. A burst of flame was let loose from Duck and the gas that I was putting into the car, burst into flames, catching me on fire and giving me the surprise of my life. I pulled out Beef (the Hero Blanket) and I wrapped it around myself and fell fast asleep against my will and when I woke up, I was relieved to find myself alive with my skin in tact. My first thought was, this blanket saved my life! My second thought was, I'm hungry. I reached into my pocket and pulled out Blorp, my trusty mound of Swiss Cheese. I gobbled him down and said, "Mmmmmm, I never knew you were so good melted. Thank goodness Beef turned you into queso instead of gratin." Overall, this blanket could save thousands of lives if thousands of people buy one, especially if the judge allows me to keep my flamethrower. Your guinea pigs and their flammable hay will be so proud of you if you bring one home.

Years ago I had a fire in my microwave. I was cooking a squash on a paper towel that, back then, must have had some micro metal in it, because it caught fire and I turned around and saw my microwave looking like a fireplace! Back then, I grabbed a kitchen towel, flooded it with water, opened the door and tossed it in, and it extinguished the flame. These blankets work the same way, without the water. I bought these for my friend who's twins are beginning to cook - age about 10 - and it's simple and easy enough that they can use it if ever needed. We had a practice session (no flames) after they opened them (it was a gift), so they'd know the process and not panic. We went through a simulation a few times until they were comfortable with it, especially the motion of laying the blanket down over the flame by moving it from front to back on the stove so the blanket protects your arms from flames. I felt it was important that they know this aspect and not panic and throw it wildly over the stove. They know it now and will have no issues if they need it. Let's hope never. I also bought myself one for our house as my mother can not use a fire extinguisher at this point. It's too heavy and she's not strong enough to pull the pin without difficulty. This solves the problem. And then I bought a bunch more and gave them to relatives for Christmas gifts. On You Tube there are videos of cottages, called bothies, in the UK that are shelters for hikers, open to all. Most have wood stoves in them for warmth. In every bothy I've seen, there is one of these hanging on the wall. They never need recharging, aren't heavy to use, and are quicker than an extinguisher to deploy. An excellent device.

Fire blankets are used in oil fires where the accelerant (oil) is not miscible with water. Most household cooking fires are oil fires, definitely need an excellent-quality, certified fire blanket along with an ABE extinguisher. 5/5.

Product arrived earlier than expected date. Item was well packaged. The red safety blanket cover is made well and has the kite safety coding written clearly identifying that the product waz made to meet all required safety standards. This was important to me that safety standards of blanket were observed in the making and the item was made in the UK holding the UKCA and the CE mark. I feel confident now that I have this product should tge eventuality of a fire occurring

I have extinguishers but these fire blankets can be used by anyone. Great & fast for young & old hands. No pins to pull. Just drape over; done. Hope we never have to use them but glad to have them in the house.
