Innovative Mechanical Pencil!
I'm a mechanical pencil freak. Have been since I was in grade school. I got all kinds of clutch pencils and mechanical pencils in my collection. I usually get a few unusual pencils a year, I decided to give this one a shot. Though, suffice to say, I'm a .9mm guy, it was a pencil I "gotta" have in my collection. It does hold up to it's name with it's name to claim. Up to 3 clicks, the lead will not break. A few times I got it up to 4 clicks and the lead didn't break. But with 1, 2, or 3 clicks, you can press really hard and it just retracts back in, then when you release, it pops back out. Pretty neat design if you ask me. Only downside is, there is too much plastic. I prefer metal pencils. Like out of aluminum or brass, made with metal components. There are only a few left that use all metal parts. But you are looking at spending some cash. However, it appears if the pencil is well made, and the components are engineered in such a way that it should last several years. Longer if only used at a desk. Zebra gives you extra pencil leads, in HB (#2) grade hardness. I did notice they seemed more like a H hardness, more than a HB. Maybe just a quality HB lead? Not sure. I'd have to do more analysis on the lead composition. Just by the faintness of how it was writing compared to my Pentel HB, and my Nano Dia HB leads of the same thickness. I have a feeling there is more clay in the lead making it stronger, more like in the middle ground of H and HB. I need to try some of my Pentel colored leads in it. They are a LOT more brittle than regular pencil lead. Curious to see if the DelGuard system will protect against broken colored leads. As that was one of the reasons I was looking into this pencil. Whenever I get around to it, I'll come back and report my findings. All in all, it's a great pencil for the money. It goes up similar to my Mitsubishi/Uni Kuru Toga with the rotating lead mechanism.

Good Pencils
The mechanical pencils won't let you down. The spring means you can press down harder without fear of the lead breaking and they are light enough to not cause fatigue but sturdy and simple enough to be used by a frequent note taker.

Quality Mechanical Pencil Eraser Refills
I've been sold on Zebra products for years and love them to this day. Zebra is the best brand of mechanical pencils, lead refills, and replacement erasers. There is none better for the quality you get. I'd guarantee I've probably saved a fortune on mechanical pencils over the years by buying Zebra because they do not break near as easily as the cheaper brands.

Delguard is Zebra’s answer to the Orenz.
Once you get used to the mechanism this pencil is a great writer and it is very difficult but not impossible to break leads.

It's an okay pencil
Marketing hype aside, this is a mechanical pencil. It performs well and doesn't advance the lead too far which keeps the lead from snapping. Any lead is breakable if it's extended far enough from the end of the pencil. Refilling the DelGuaard is easy enough - take out the eraser and drop in a replacement. The metal eraser cap has a hole in it which you can drop refills into if the eraser is not in place; handy if you like to use a block or pencil style eraser instead of the small built-in one.

Excellent pencil, spring loaded tip works well
Spring loaded mechanism in the grip to decrease likelihood of break a fine point lead seemed gimmicky. The spring "shock" absorber seems to function as intended.

Must buy
Great little erasers. These are for writers that don't make too many mistakes and are careful with what they write. Must with your pencil, these erasers eventually go

Was skeptical about pencil holding up to woodworking abuse. Ended up working great !
Needed a fine tip 0.5 lead to work with my Incra Marking T-Ruler. The incremental marking holes are tiny but give great results. But I kept breaking the pencil leads with my cheap BIC pencil especially since Im marking on wood. Amazingly the double spring mechanism on this one fixed that but you need to keep the lead short or it will still break. The "unbreakable lead" labeling is a little misleading since the springy retractable tip is where the magic is happening. The lead is just a normal lead, so it will work with other brands too. Bottom line: light weight, simple, looks and works great as long as you keep the lead short.

Really does work unless you press down at a hard angle and then the lead will snap, but I'm prone to pressing very hard when I write and I thought mechanical pencils would never be a thing I could use, and I really hate sharpening wood pencils because I want the point FINE all the time and it's a waste to sharpen them every minute or so. I would break leads constantly on other 0.7 mechanicals. This pencil really works for me and the hand-feel is OK but there is no cushion for your fingers so it isn't the best for really long time writing and for those who like the rubber grips. I do wish it had a rubbery grip for the finger area. The eraser is super small and won't last long but never does in these kind of pens. Don't rely on it.
