This covers basically all you need to know about game development in Unity, and while doing so, unobtrusively introduces a number of important programming concepts. The book contains references to other documentation covering functions that cannot be fully covered in the space available. The last chapter even briefly demonstrates deployment to mobile devices and the development of augmented reality games.Another benefit is that the book regularly comes in new editions, covering new functionality in Unity.

Bought this book after checking its age (2022/23), hoping it was still current. However, the project used in the book uses methods that have been replaced by newer ones, and so, if you use the book to learn programming in Unity, you learn redundant methodologies on a discontinued version of the framework. So it may give you insights into using Unity, but you will not be future-proof.
