This thing is absolutely adorable! It looks so cute sitting out there in our turf yard I didn't have any way of mounting it with the hooks but luckily it comes with a small hole and cap that I was able to fill with gravel and it has not fallen over once The only issue is our dog wants to mark everything else in our yard except for this fire hydrant

I bought this hydrant because it's one of the larger ones out there (i.e. closer in size to an actual fire hydrant) and looked sturdy in the photos. I am definitely not disappointed! It is definitely a solid build. I read a review from someone saying that it kept falling over, but that has not been an issue for me at all even on uneven REAL indoor grass because... 1) Even though it's tall, it's not a lightweight item. 2) It has four hinged "rings" and stakes to stake it IF you're putting it on a surface that accepts stakes (e.g. sod). 3) If you can't stake it, it has an opening like an old-school piggy bank on the bottom. Just open it, fill it with gravel and DONE! I reviewed a lot of options before pulling the trigger on it. The final step was trying to figure out if my two dogs would also... ummm... "pull the trigger" on it too. At first, they totally didn't, but then I ended up taking some paper towels with me on one of our outdoor walks. At one of their very favorite pee spots (an actual fire hydrant), I dabbed a wet spot on it before they had a chance to get to it, and I put the paper towel in one of their poo bags. When we got home, I rubbed the paper towel on the fire hydrant. Voila! It is now their go-to pee spot in the house (translation: they are not peeing on the rug anymore!!). Of course, every dog is different, but this hydrant really did the trick in our house.

Keeps falling over, piggy bank type lock on the underside, came apart. Color wise and visually nice, but my puppy wanted to eat on it and topple it over.
