I hate to say I paid almost $50.00 CDN for something that can be substituted by a Canadian or American coin - as in a quarter or maybe dime in either case. But I thought about it and realized how many times I’ve needed to pry something open. Also, how fiddly it can be using a coin, or not being able to find the perfect sized screwdriver. This solves all those compromises. Plus, being a PB Swiss, it does not get better for hand tools by any other company. I wanted this for a small tool bag I keep close at hand in my home, so that I don’t need to go rummaging through my main set, part of which maybe in the garage or basement on any given day. Nothing compares to the Swiss Grip handle and frankly, using this is close to the ultimate pry tool ever created (for small items). My only small concern is the tip seems just a bit thick for some items I’ve come across. But, I have yet to do that. So this stays with its high marks and most comfortable grip I think any hand tool has ever been produced with. Just a note though - this tool came without any packaging whatsoever. So it may not be good as a gift in that regard. But I saw no evidence it was used. Recommended.

There are crappy tools, there are good tools, there are great tools, and then there are those rare tools that scream quality the minute you lay eyes on them and pick them up in your hand. This Swiss Tools screwdriver is one of those. I do a lot of work on classic cars and I'm always coming across wide-slot screws, often in brass, that are so easily damaged by a steel flat-head screwdriver. No matter how careful you are, it still always happens. I need to do some fine work on a carburettor and I just couldn't risk using a normal screwdriver. So, I ordered this and I couldn't be happier. In fact, I'm kicking myself that I didn't buy this a long time ago instead of damaging so many brass screw heads. The price is high, but it's the only one on the market like it (there are other curved ones but this is the only one with rounded edges on the sides). Once you start using it and stop mangling those delicate screw slots, you'll forget all about the price and just thank yourself for getting it into your tool drawer. Now, there's something you need to know. The first one I received had a line across the head like it had maybe been used before, but it was only on one side. It also didn't come in retail packaging but instead was just in a heat-sealed plastic bag. So, I sent it back and got another one, but that one had the same line except fainter. Then I had a look through some of the other review photos and they have the same line visible. Because it's only on one side and actually doesn't look like a scratch that's taken any of the finish off under magnification, I think it's actually caused by something in the manufacturing process when the head is being plated. These may even be factory seconds because of this very faint line, but then again they're much cheaper than if you ordered one directly from Swiss Tools or another retailer. So if you order one and it has the faint line, don't worry about it; it's not a scratch and it hasn't been previously used.

Not the cheapest but easily the best quality screwdriver for removing battery covers with large slots, especially those that take the coin shaped batteries. This screwdriver has a quality feel to it - the kind that gives pleasure every time you reach for it and use it, I would expect it to last a lifetime. They say buy cheap buy twice. This is a buy once item!
