MCGARD 24538 Chrome Cone Seat Wheel Lock (1/2"-20 Thread Size) - Set of 5

Excellent exceeded my expectations

Worked fine on my NuCamp Tab320 locking wheels and secured the spare

Purchased Sept. 3, 2025. These are for a 5'X10' single axle trailer using wheels with 5 lug nuts. Umm, their wheel locks. Once you install them then they do what they say they do! They require that you use the keyed lug nut that comes with your set that then fits perfectly into their design (only one way of course) to tighten or remove your new locking lugnuts. Once installed then your wheels are more protected from being easily stolen. Word of caution, I use anti-seize to help ensure that these, or any other lug nuts for that matter, won't rust onto the wheel studs. Trust me, you never want any lug nuts rusted onto the wheel studs because it's very painstaking and timeconsuming to get them loose again. Also, you only need to install one locking lug nut per wheel. You could go nuts and install all five on one wheel but that's completely unnecessary overkill. I plan on using 2 of the remaining 3 on spare tire mounts once I get those for the trailer. My only complaint is that I wish they were shorter because they are very noticable compared to the other very basic and standard lug nuts. Otherwise, they look good, fit fine, and appear to be made of sturdy and durable materials. I would consider purchasing these again but first, I would search for some that are not as long.

Perfect fit for my Jeep Wrangler for all 5 wheels

I have a 2005 Jeep Liberty CRD Unlimited and wanted to secure my spare tire to my carrier (be sure to use red loctite to secure the carrier bolts to the car, or someone can run off with the entire tire/carrier unit). I was happy to see that these locking lug nuts seem to be very well made. I have not had any issues with them rusting or even losing their nickel plating luster. The one issue I do have with these is the length. Since my jeep has aluminum tires (I've heard steel are fine), the factory lug nuts stick out a good half inch or so, possibly enough room to grab with locking pliers. I doubt anyone would have a pair of locking pliers on hand big enough, and it would definitely take time and make a lot of noise to get off, but it is theoretically possible. Also, the factory version of this product has the same issue, McGard designed it after their dimensions. Other than that, these things work! it will prevent any thief from walking up to the car and taking the tire in a flash. In conclusion, a thief that just so happened to have the right tools on hand, time and determination, and guts (or stupidity) may be able to overcome these locking lug nuts, but it'll definitely annoy the crap out of them at least. Have had a set of these on my wheels for about a year. Can say with confidence that these are great. I usually change my own tires and have had to take my car to the shop once or twice. So far no complaints about these wheel locks. They're still in great shape despite the crazy weather we've had in Canada over the last year and I don't foresee them giving out randomly. They also have so far threaded very very nicely, despite my studs having some rust. Overall its a quality bolt and is better than any of the other bolts I have on my wheel currently (not just because its a wheel lock). McGard also gives you a code for safekeeping which allows you to order your exact key should you lose it. Pretty handy incase you tend to lose things.

I did search for jeep Wrangler, unfortunately It doesn’t fit for Jeep wrangler!!!!

Ich wollte eigentlich mit McGard meine BBS Felgen vor Diebstahl sichern. Leider ließ sich bei meinen Felgen der Nabendeckel nicht mehr montieren. Ansonsten ein TOP Produkt. Passt aufs Gewinde und einfache Installation.
