Fish tank light suctions to the top of the lid for the tank. I find it works best to light up the aquarium when its facing downwards vs the back of the tank facing forward. There are some pretty bright light settings on this thing. It has a time for convenience and the remote sits outside on the counter. There are several color options and brightness settings. Fits nicely in the tank without taking up too much space.

Two of these new lights arrived. Installation DayOne: Absolutely Marvelous!! But Lights and water?…ugh, so who knows how long they will last, or if the suctions cups will give out. Your guess is as good as mine. But right now these are better than the hood lights that both crapped out, as hood lights always do. With these I get to keep both my hoods on my 55 gall. So the lights arrived in their little boxes yesterday. At 5am this morning I attached one to each lid, plugged them in, pressed the power button, followed by the 24/7 button, and VOILA!! the most beautiful lighting, simulating sunrise. What did that take, all of 30 seconds? And the light has very gradually grown stronger all morning on that 24/7 setting. I enjoy sitting in front of the tank and simply relaxing. Now I can really see everything. My fish look gorgeous, plants are happy, and I am ecstatic. Day Two: One of the suction cups let go immediately and refuses to stay attached. No biggie. I have ordered aquarium safe superglue. The lights are simply fantastic. simulating day and dark at night.

I bought this product in November and have been using it in my 3-4G tank since. It is a nice little light that puts out plenty of light in a lovely color. like other reviews said the 24 hr mode isn't the most useful, but I mostly used the 6 or 10 hr timer (I do wish there was an 8 hr option as well). After a few months of no major problems, the light started to have issues with the controller. The buttons stopped working, and then soon the light wouldn't turn on at all. It turned out to be the same problem as others have had where the plastic broke and it was no longer waterproof. This all happened right after the return period ended, so maybe try a different light. UPDATE: I emailed the company and they were very quick to respond and send a new unit. I will just be very careful to not bump the front of the light and hope for the best.

I have a minibow aquarium and the LED suddenly stopped working this past week. I wasn't sure what to do and saw the positive reviews for this light so I purchased it through Prime. At first I thought it might be too bright for my betta, but, I mitigated this by floating more leaves on the top of the water to diffuse the light in places. I have a planted tank and enough light still gets through for the plants. The best thing in my opinion has been the timed feature. Simply turn it on, then when you want the 'sunrise' to start hit the 24/7 button. Really easy. It is so nice how it gradually lights in the morning and sets in the evening. In this photo, it is starting to dim in the evening so the light is less bright, it will eventually turn to a dim deep blue then turn off in a few hours. Its wonderful! I hope that it lasts a long time. Also, should I want to upgrade my betta to a larger aquarium, this will definitely be a light that can transition easily. Its so great I may get one for my other nano tank!

I bought the 6 Wt 8" Submersible LED light for my 5 gallon Shrimp tank. The original light was dimming after 5 yrs. I really like this light - it is perfect & illuminates the entire planted tank. Shrimp immediately more active. The directions could be clearer. When you first set the timer mode the light immediately turns off - but then fades back on over 30 to 45 seconds. So it's not instant on & off. The fading on & off part in Timer Mode was not mentioned anywhere. (only with the 24/7 Lighting mode) I have 5 other Hygger Full Spectrum lights for larger tanks so I decided to give this little one a try. I will be buying several more of these lights - a larger one for a 10 gallon tank. And a spare. I have tried lights from other companies & Hygger is the only one I will trade with for lights. I just wish the lights had 10 levels of brightness.

This light is worth it!!! I truly LOVE how it can be put on the automatic setting, where it goes through sun, rising, full sun, and then evening, before shutting off completely for the evening and then coming back on the next morning!!! I absolutely love it. However, I will agree with everyone else.: it says submersible, but do yourself a favor and don’t do that!! it will last for a little while if you put it underwater, but it will eventually stop working. So just keep it above water to do yourself a favor. Yes mine stopped working, but I love it so much that I’m just going ahead and buying another.

I love the timer function on this light. Very useful so that the fish are on a light schedule. However, as many others have mentioned, the suction cups are horrible. No matter if I clean the lid, wipe them slightly with water before suctioning them to the lid, etc., nothing would make them stick for more than a couple days. I finally bought some command strips designed for bathroom use and will see how that works to keep them stuck to the lid. Crossing my fingers.

Originally, the light was submerged until I decided where I wanted it place. It works well in 15 gallon column tank vs purchasing a new lid. The suction cups are not strong enough to hang the light from the lid. I used super glue. So far it’s holding. The changing colors are nice with the remote control. The colors look realistic on lower intensity. The light adjust to the time of day. In the morning, the lights have a red hue which turns to white light. In the evening, the light gradually changes from white to a blue hue gradually darkening until turning off. I’m sure the fish appreciate not being blasted with bright lights upon waking and gentle transition to darkness. Hopefully, it will continue to work unlike other had issues after a relatively short time. At this time, I would recommend the light.

it is a unique aquarium lamp in the world, you won't find in any store any lamp like this one, it simulate the 24 day light during the day, it is perfect. I have a year with the lamp and it work perfect. If it get damage by the long time used, I buy it again.

To start with the negative, as many other reviews mention, these are not reliable when submersed (not very waterproof, short out quickly). They also don't really work aesthetically when submersed either, as the reflection from the (very) bright lights is impossible to look at, no matter how you angle them. The suction cups aren't fantastic either. On to the positive! With all that said, when you mount them to the lid they look amazing! I used water-resistant Command strips based on another reviewer's suggestion, they work great. The lights are bright, many levels and colours to choose from. The absolute best feature and what makes them keep their 5 star rating despite their flaws, is the 24/7 cycle! Gentle sunrise to start the day, moving to bright daylight, then a gentle move down through the blues (moonlight) to off. I love the cycle so much in my 40 gallon tank, I bought this for my 10 gallon. It's beautiful to watch them transition throughout the day and a more natural cycle of light for my fish. Love them! Definitely recommend!
