It was right part, even though I used it on an Olds 455

Good shifter...Great price
Haven't installed it yet, my Nova in in the dismantling process for body work and 6 coats of paint. The shifter looks great but won't be installed for some time.

It wouldn't fit
It well not fit my 400 Pontiac distributor even if it did you could not tighten it Way too long, I think it's for a Chevy V8. I'll keep it as my grandson runs the Chevy V8's. The price was fair. Just wish they had one for the Pontiac 1977 400 engine.
