Needs "Amazon's choice" for the best appliance removal
Removing ortho aligners and a sleep apnea dental appliance tore up my nails. I have pretty strong nails. Can't even imagine how devastating it would be for those that have nails done at a salon. Found this appliance remover tool to work great, as the hooks are reversible for the lower and upper appliances. You can pull down the upper appliance, reverse the tool to the other end and push up on the lower appliance. The other designs made it difficult to remove the lower since the "hook" is in the same direction used for the upper. Love it and my nails love it too! BTW, I am a retired dentist.

Pricey, but works and worth it
Pricey, yes, but....Very easy to remove trays with this tool. Saves your manicure. Was using my fingers for about 2 months, but just before I had the attachments put in, it was recommended I get these for more bearable removals. Helped. Now that I’m used to the attachments, I haven’t gone back. (Ortho may have one that you can try out before buying a set) For me, it was worth the price.

I won't be without these!
I bought these about a month ago. I had no problem getting my Invisalign out the first month, but once I had attachments put on (a lot of them), I struggled to get my trays out. The bottom in particular was nearly impossible. I tried other things (I was somewhat successfully using a Sunkist orange peeler stick to get the bottom trays out, but it was a little awkward and sometimes painful). I decided to give these a try and am so happy that I did! I keep one at home in the bathroom, one in my travel kit in my purse, and one at my desk at work. The other 4 I'm saving for later. I was immediately able to pop the bottom trays off with ease, I had a little trouble at first finding the right spot to stick the hook in on top. I kept trying though because I liked not sticking all of my fingers in my mouth to get my trays out. After a few weeks I'm getting them out in just a few seconds, usually on the first try on top and bottom. I have had absolutely no issues with breakage or any concerns about durability. As I said, my bottom aligner was really hard to get out before and with this tool it's a piece of cake. If you're having trouble with removing your aligners, give them a try! **UPDATE 7/26/16: Almost a year later and I still use these every day, every time I take out my invisalign. I have had no breakage and still can't be without! My orthodontist started carrying them as well after I showed it to them. :) **UPDATE 2/23/17: Still use these every day, now carry an extra in my purse for the days my travel kit doesn't make it back into my purse. I haven't lost or broken any. At some point I switched to using the pull side on both the top and bottom, as the pushing on the bottom was problematic and hurt sometimes. My daughter just used this last night (she has regular braces) to get her bands off because she'd just gotten her nails done and didn't want to stick her pretty nails in her mouth (she was trying to talk me into taking her bands off for her - eww). I still fully endorse these and encourage others to give them a try!

Grandma with Invisalign likes the Outie Tool
The Outie Tool has been a life saver. It really makes taking my Invisalign trays out more easy to do. Especially when it's a new tray that's so tight. I keep one with me in my purse, and one in the bathroom. I haven't broken one yet, but it's only been about a month. However, I don't think it will be an issue. I believe I have enough of the tools to make it through the entire 11 months I'll be wearing my trays with the one box I ordered. A little expensive, but it really has made wearing Invisalign a lot easier.

Not as easy as I thought it would be - using fingernails was much easier.
I purchased these tools for the fear of not being able to get my aligners out once I got the attachments put on. However, I found it much more difficult to use these than just using my fingernails to pop the aligners out. My ortho gave me a great tip on how to get the aligners out once attachments are in. For the bottom, you just start at the back outside of your lower teeth. No big deal, that's how I did it before I got attachments. For the top aligners, they had me take my right hand and reach across to the left inside of the aligner and pull down from the inside. Then, do the opposite - reach across with my left hand to the right-inside of my top aligner and pull down. Once you do that, the aligners pulled out extremely easily. This tool seemed to work ok, but just using my fingernails worked much better. And it's one less thing I have to keep up with throughout the day whenever I want to eat.

Works well, wish they fit in my case.
I had a terrible time trying to remove my Invisalign braces, and it only got worse after they added attachments. I ordered ThePulTool (thepultool.com), which worked great for six months before breaking. Unfortunately, when I went to order another one, the website says they're backordered. In desperation, I ordered both this set of Outie tools and the pair of blue, angled Retainer Removal Tools (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00KBWE6UM) from Amazon. The latter tool was a complete fiasco. As others have reported, it simply wouldn't grab onto the Invisalign trays, no matter how many different ways I tried to use it. A complete waste of money. The Outie tool works much better -- not quite as good as ThePulTool, but not bad, and has little trouble grabbing the trays. The "push up" feature for the bottom trays didn't work on one side for me, as I have to grab the tray from the inside of my teeth because of a large attachment in that area, but fortunately the pulling end works fine on the bottom tray as well as the top. I still like ThePulTool best, particularly since it fits in my case, but until they're available again, I recommend the Outie Tool. It's nice that they send you several of them so that if one breaks, you're not stuck trying to get your trays out by yourself without anything to help.

Unfortunately, this item arrived opened at the base of the package - thinking the seal just gave way. Enough waste in the world so gave it a good scrub and scalding prior to use. Love the two hook ends being different and are the same thickness of a natural fingernail. These work perfectly on both partial and Invisilign. If arrived unopened, five stars all the way.

These tools are awful & don’t work. Don’t waste your money.
