The Black and Decker BDXPA0023 Programmable timer is the best multi-day, multi-program timer you can buy for the money. I had a timer I bought in 2008 manufactured by Globe Industrious that worked every day until April 2025 and failed after the wife sprayed ant/roach killer on it and it no longer works. I searched Amazon for timers and stumbled on the Black and Decker BDXPA0023 timer that looks to be identical to the 2008 Globe timer (see the pictures I uploaded of my failed Globe timer).I like the fact that you can download the PDF manual for the BDXPA0023 by searching with google.Many reviews on Amazon complain that the BDXPA0023 is hard to program. But that is not true. there are 20 program positions you can use by pressing the "program" button repeatedly. Press "Program" one time and it changes the display to "1 on" where you can press clock and hour button to cycle through the hours of the day. Press clock and minute to set minutes from 1 to 59. Press "program" again and the display switches to "1 off" where you set the off time for program 1. Keep pressing "Program" to switch sequentially to "2 on," "2 off," "3 on," "3 off," "4 on," "4 off," etc... up to "20 on" and "20 off."So setting on time at 6:00 pm with off time set to 10:00 pm every day of the week just requires you to set program 1 on and off time. In 24 hour mode that means that you set the on time to 18:00 and off time at 22:00. Add program 2 and set the on time to 07:00 with off at 10:00 to turn the same lamp on at 07:00 am and off at 10:00 am.What gets complicated is if you want to have different on and off times for each day of the week. If that is your choice, you must set all on and off times for specific days of the week by adding the "week" button to the programming sequence to select what day of the week you want for a particular on and off time. If you choose a complicated on/off schedule by week day, you must set the clock in real time mode to synchronize the timer to the current day of the week: Press CLOCK + WEEK/HOUR/WEEK, to set the real time for the current day of the week.

Programming instructions are awful. There are no videos available to help. I have tried to program it multiple times and each time the appliance will not respond correctly to the program times.

It is a bit tricky to set up but I wasn’t going to give in, finally got it figured out, but like I said, you always have to make sure after your on and off times are set, to hit the auto button by hitting on/off and make sure auto is showing in the bottom middle of screen.

The device works give, but the actual configuration is rather convoluted.

These work very well. But they are not easy to set. Setting the time and day is complicated. It’s certainly do-able, but if you get frustrated easily, this is not the timer for you!

Easy to setup and it is working just fine out in our garage.

Button procedure to convoluted. Unit's display jumps around and you can't be sure whats being programed, or what program screen you are on. I waste too much time trying to get a single simple program setup!

I bought this product a few months before I was going to leave on vacation just to have it, although I should have waited to order beforehand bc now too late to return. The device from the photos looked easier enough to program…. Well I was wrong. I must have tried 10 times to get this product to work on a table lamp. The instructions are confusing via the product buttons to program. The online instructions I tried and it still did not work. I tried calling customer service and got a representative in the Dominican Republic. Terrible. She refused to transfer me to a US representative after a few requests, so I hung up.So don’t waste your money 💰.
